Survivor is hands down one of CBS’s best reality shows. Just look at how many seasons it has been on the air. We have a forty-ninth installment premiering this fall, and a fiftieth season confirmed as well, which is set to air in February 2026. Now, thanks to longtime host Jeff Probst’s recent comments, it looks like the series won’t be stopping there either.
On June 30, a Survivor fan shared a video on Instagram of Probst on location in Fiji. He was there because that's where the fiftieth season films. In the video, Probst states that production has officially come to a close on Survivor 50. While that was already thrilling news, things got even more exciting when Probst revealed in the video that they’ll be returning to the island to film two additional seasons of the hit reality competition series. He even explicitly mentions Survivor 51 and Survivor 52 by name.
However, it's important to mention that CBS has not publicly confirmed these renewals yet, making Probst’s remarks an unofficial but highly promising indication of the show’s future. If you've been keeping up with the Survivor franchise, you'd already know that a casting call recently went out looking for new contestants to compete in a Survivor 51 and future seasons.
On the Survivor casting site, the casting crew is encouraging all types of applicants to apply. We're talking longtime fans to people who’ve never applied before. The site even mentions that the show plans to film season 51 between mid-April and mid-May 2026, which gives a rough idea of the production timeline.
That said, this pretty much confirms a fifty-first season. In a way, the site also confirms a fifty-second season since it states the casting crew is looking for contestants to compete in season 51 and beyond. We just need that official confirmation directly from CBS. Once the network makes it public, fans can officially celebrate the continued future of Survivor. But until then, all signs are pointing in the right direction.
Survivor 49 is slated to premiere on CBS in fall 2025. New episodes will air on Wednesdays at 8/7c. While there's a rumored cast list going around, the only official cast member is former Marvel Studios executive Nate Moore. Survivor 50 will air in early 2026, and fans can expect to see returning players such as Jenna Lewis-Dougherty, Colby Donaldson, Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick, Cirie Fields, Ozzy Lusth, and many others.
