A brand-new installment of Survivor will premiere on CBS this fall, and fans can hardly contain their excitement. After an incredible forty-eighth season that saw Kyle Fraser crowned as the show's winner, Survivor 49 will see a group of new castaways battling it out on a remote island, competing in grueling challenges for the chance to claim the title of Sole Survivor and walk away with the coveted $1 million grand prize.

CBS has not announced an official premiere date just yet, but the forty-ninth season is expected to premiere sometime in September. That's when the show's fall premieres typically air. Fans can also expect new episodes to air on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. CT. Don't worry. We'll get back to you with the actual premiere date once CBS makes that big announcement.

In the meantime, there's even more exciting news for fans. Back in May 2025, CBS didn't just renew the reality competition series for a forty-ninth season, but a fiftieth season as well. Production on Survivor 50 reportedly started on June 6 in Fiji. Now we've just learned that filming has officially wrapped, marking a major milestone for the iconic franchise.

Yes, you read that right! The cameras stopped rolling on Survivor 50 on June 30. Jeff Probst, the longtime host and executive producer of the series, was on location to share this good news. A video of him discussing production wrapped was posted on Instagram by a user named "allwinnerssurvivor." In the video, Probst is in front of the Survivor 50 sign when he announces season 50's production status before thanking fans for their continued support in making the show such a lasting success. Survivor 50 is confirmed to premiere in February 2026.

What's even more exciting is when he mentions that they'll be back to shoot two more seasons of Survivor in Fiji. Those seasons are Survivor 51 and 52. This is new news to us, as CBS had only renewed the show for seasons 49 and 50. However, there have been rumors that Survivor has been quietly renewed for more seasons after recent casting calls. Now it appears that we have received unofficial confirmation from Probst.

CBS has not come out with an official press release or public announcement regarding seasons 51 and 52 just yet, but Probst’s comments on location all but confirm that the network is moving forward with even more Survivor. Honestly, is anyone really surprised? The show remains one of CBS’s most enduring and successful franchises, with a loyal fan base and a proven formula that continues to deliver season after season. We highly doubt Survivor is going anywhere anytime soon.
