There's some good news for us Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage fans waiting for any updates to come out of season 2. The Young Sheldon sequel series premiered on CBS in October 2024, and the network confirmed its renewal in February 2025. Thanks to the show's writers, there's an exciting update that indicates work on the next season is on track.
On the official Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage writers Instagram, the account shared an image of the scribes hard at work to begin scripts for the second season! The image on their Stories unfortunately doesn't give much away. Not even the title of the episode! Though it does confirm that the writers have begun thinking up the season 2 episode 1 outline. Georgie and Mandy season 2 is on track for fall premiere
So we already knew that Georgie and Mandy season 2 is coming back in fall 2025. That's already been confirmed on the CBS fall schedule. The comedy will return to its Thursday night time slot, running from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each week. An exact release date hasn't been set yet. Though with the first season premiering in October last year, it's likely the same will happen with the next installment.
Plus, season 1 began filming in July 2024 with the show then debuting three months later. As the writers are clearly already back and hard at work, I wouldn't be surprised if season 2 followed the same timeline. The good thing about sitcoms is that they're generally easier and quicker to film compared to dramas. Plus, when season 2 does arrive, not the whole season will have been filmed yet. As the first episodes air, the cast will still be in production.
So overall, we still don't have much to go on, especially after the major cliffhangers we were left with. Both Georgie and Mandy will be busy with their respective jobs, making big changes to each with Georgie now co-owner of the tire shop, while Mandy is the full-time weather girl at Channel 7 news. Though the increased time apart may start to increase the tension between the couple, whose trust has already been left a bit broken with Mandy's ex-boyfriend, and now boss, Scott in the picture.
Though as a fan, I'm just happy to see that the writers room is up and running, which means there's no delays and things are running on schedule for season 2 to premiere in fall 2025. We certainly can't wait to see what's in store for the couple who are unfortunately destined not to remain together. At least, temporarily.
