That's a significant increase from the first season, which only had 10 episodes.

Doc season 2 premieres on Tuesday, though the episode airing isn’t new
No, you didn't read that wrong. The first episode of Doc season 2 will air on Fox this Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at 9/8c, but it's not actually a new episode. Viewers who tuned in to Fox on Sunday night, Sept. 14, saw this very same episode already. It aired at 8/7c on this date. Technically, that's when the second season actually premiered, but Fox is calling it a "special premiere." The "real" premiere for Doc season 2 is on Sept. 23, but again, it will just be a re-airing of the first episode.
We're not going to spoil anything for those who haven't watched the Doc season 2 premiere yet, but just know that the first episode of the season does not disappoint! It'll definitely leave you wanting to binge the rest of the season, though that's impossible since new episodes roll out weekly.
When will the second episode of Doc season 2 air?
Well, that'll be next week. While Doc season 2 is re-airing its first episode on Tuesday, the following Tuesday, things will be back to normal. Emmy Award-winning actress Felicity Huffman joins the season 2 cast as the new chief of internal medicine, Dr. Joan Ridley.
