Doc season 2 had a special premiere on Sept. 14, but for those who missed it, the same episode was reaired on Fox on Sept. 23. It was a pretty explosive season premiere, with a hostage situation and shooting taking place at Westside Hospital that left one major character in a not-so-good place.

That's why we're eager to dive into the next episode to see how everything unfolds and how the fallout from the shocking events will affect the staff at Westside. Fortunately, Fox has released a promo for the upcoming second episode. Of course, we shared it below along with everything else you need to know.

When is Doc season 2 episode 2 airing on Fox?

Don't worry! Things will officially go back to normal starting next week. On Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, the second episode of Doc season 2 will air on Fox at 9/8c. But before this episode airs, a brand-new episode of Murder in a Small Town season 2 will air first at 8/7c. You can expect a new episode of Doc season 2 to air every Tuesday night at the same time until the season concludes. If there are any changes in the schedule, we'll be sure to let you know.

The second season consists of a whopping total of 22 episodes. But the season will likely go on a winter hiatus at some point, meaning there will be a break in new episode releases during the holiday season before the show returns to finish airing the remaining episodes. This is something else that we'll inform you more about once we have more details.

Spoilers are ahead from Doc season 2 episode 1.

What could Doc season 2 episode 2 be about?

The second episode of Doc season 2 is titled "Delusions of Grandeur." Based on the promo for the second episode, it looks like things will pick up right where the first episode left off. After having flashes of old memories in the previous episode, Amy is determined to uncover more of her lost memories and convinces Gina to administer treatments. The process, however, appears physically taxing, as the promo shows Amy experiencing a nosebleed.

Despite Gina advising that they slow down on the treatments, Amy remains resolute and insists on pushing forward. Later in the promo, Amy is even shown telling Michael that her brain is trying to warn her about something with her recovered memories.

Meanwhile, TJ is up and moving around after being shot and going through surgery. However, the promo shows him in a wheelchair, and he doesn't look too happy about his current situation. It appears that he may not be able to return to work immediately.

When it comes to Amy and her relationship with Jake, things seem rocky as ever. Jake is shown talking to a woman in a flirty manner in the promo, and Amy witnesses it. She wants to make things right with him after the kiss she shared with Michael, but Jake still doesn't seem as receptive. However, they do share a kiss in the promo. Although Michael just had a baby with his wife, the promo makes it seem like he's still struggling with his feelings for Amy. So, it doesn't look like that love triangle (Amy, Jake, Michael) is going anywhere any time soon.

Of course, we'll see Amy and the rest of the doctors treat more patients in the upcoming episode, which is shown in the promo. But what really sticks out in the video is the introduction of a new character. After Richard's lies came out and his medical license was suspended in the season 1 finale, Westside Hospital is in need of a new Chief of Internal Medicine. That's when Dr. Joan Ridley (Felicity Huffman) comes in.

Michael gives her the job, and she comes in already switching things up. In the promo, she's shown gathering all of the hospital staff together before telling them that she'll be conducting an official evaluation of each person. Depending on the results, some staff members face the possibility of losing their positions. That can't be good!
