It's been quite the wait, but we're thrilled to be able to say that 911 is officially back on UK TV screens. The long-running ABC procedural has finally returned to kick off the second half of its ninth season on the Disney Plus streaming service in the UK and Ireland, meaning that fans can finally catch up on the adventures of Athena, Hen, Buck, Eddie, Chimney, Maddie and the rest of the 118 after their space showdown earlier in the season.
The show returned with its midseason premiere, "Secrets", which placed the focus on Hen. It was a game-changer and certainly worth the months-long wait for the show to return - which was uncharacteristic considering that the previous season streamed episodes on Disney Plus the night after their US premiere.
Now that we're back, here's when you can expect 911 season 9 episode 8 and the remainder of the season on Disney Plus UK.
911 season 9 will maintain a delayed UK release schedule on Disney Plus
911 is officially back on Disney Plus UK, streaming new episodes each Friday alongside spinoff series 911: Nashville. It was a long time coming as both shows were off for an unexpectedly long time - despite the fact that they returned to US TV screens back in January. But now, we can celebrate the weekend by catching up with our favorite fictional first responders!
Although the streamer broke from the norm earlier this season, moving 911's release date from Fridays to Wednesdays (on a two-week delay), it has now moved it back to Fridays for the foreseeable. It also isn't on a two-week delay immediately either, as the show is currently four episodes behind the US. However, as 911 is currently off air for the Winter Olympics (and set to return on February 26), that will allow UK audiences to catch up so that they are once again just two episodes behind.
The silver lining here is that it leaves less chances of an interrupted schedule. US TV shows are known for taking occasional 1 - 3 week breaks. As that isn't the custom in the UK, it can be confusing for audiences who expect new episodes the day after their US premiere. With a week or two delay, there are always enough episodes to fill those potential gaps (while also potentially allowing for UK viewers to catch up before the end of the season).

It goes without saying that 911 fans have been waiting a long time to see their favorite show back on Disney Plus UK. The season had such a gripping start with the ambitious space storyline that - that actually saw Athena Grant and Hen Wilson go into space - and it's undoubtedly going to continue to resonate with viewers throughout the rest of the season.
Now viewers in the UK can join in on the fun again, experiencing the madness with the rest of the world and potentially even catching up a little bit - closing the gap in time for the show's return in the US.
