Nine seasons in and 911 continues to confound, surprise, and baffle people. That's the beauty of the most outrageous show on television, and you needn't look any further than that ambitious season 9 trailer released ahead of the premiere which has since inspired countless memes on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Yes, some of our first responders went to space this season - and honestly, we would watch Angela Bassett's Athena Grant slaying in space every day of the week if we could.
While 911 remains one of ABC's most popular shows, it has become a global phenomenon too - helping one of broadcast's biggest titans dominate streaming platforms as well (both in the US and in international territories on Disney Plus). Speaking of which, with the show having returned to screens for its midseason premiere in the US, fans in the UK are longing for an update on its release too. Unfortunately, it might not be the one that they were hoping for.
911 season 9 episode 7's UK release date isn't the day after its US premiere
Fans in the UK were disappointed to see that 911 season 9 episode 7 did not premiere on Disney Plus the morning after it aired in the US. The show returned to ABC in the States on Thursday, January 9, so fans were hoping that it might premiere on Disney Plus in the UK on Friday, January 10. This unfortunately has not been the case. And a week later, when the eighth episode aired in the US, there was also no new episode on the streamer the next morning.
This suggests that Disney Plus is maintaining is new release pattern of airing new episodes of 911 season 9 on a delay. It released the first half of the season in weekly installments, with each one coming just under two weeks after their respective US premiere dates, arriving on Wednesdays instead of the once-reliable Friday releases. So, with that in mind, the earliest that fans can expect to see 911 season 9 episode 7 on Disney Plus would be Wednesday, January 21. But, with no official date confirmation as of yet, it could be the week after that or even at some point in February.

Now, that's just a prediction, as the streamer has significantly changed its release patterns up this year. Last season, new episodes of ABC shows like 911, Grey's Anatomy, and High Potential all released the morning after their US debuts. But this season has turned that on its head for the 911 shows, which now release episodes 13 days after their US premieres (while Grey's and High Potential still maintain the old format of next-day debuts).
So far, the other shows have maintained that release pattern, so it remains to be seen if 911 and its spinoff 911: Nashville will too. We'll know come Wednesday, January 21. If no new episodes come out on that date, we may still be waiting some time to see what the 118 and the 113 fire crews get up to in their respective cities.
911 has had a pretty pivotal season this time around as the 118 is still reeling from the loss of their beloved fire captain Bobby Nash, who unexpectedly died in season 8 when he sacrificed himself so that Howard "Chimney" Han could live. Chimney has been carrying that forward, attempting to do Bobby and his legacy proud as the acting fire captain.
The demand from UK audiences to see new episodes of 911 season 9 highlight how popular the show still is after all these years. Here's hoping Disney Plus unveils the new episodes in the not-too-distant future!
