Abbott Elementary is truly one of the best comedies out there! No one episode will fail to make you laugh. The characters are so well-written and each of them gets the tears rolling down your face in a different way. There are a lot of standout moments, like everything in the It's Always Sunny crossover, they are too many to list out. And so, we had to, challengingly, narrow down our picks. Here's 5 Abbott Elementary scenes that will always be funny no matter how many times you watch. Check out the list below!

Tariq's first F.A.D.E performance at Abbott

Season 1 episode 8, “Work Family”

Right off the bat, Abbott Elementary is an enjoyable watch that makes you laugh. But I think the first scene to really make me laugh out loud and want to go back to rewatch is when Tariq comes in to perform an anti-drug rap song for F.A.D.E., Friends Against Drug Exposure, at the school. Everything is hilarious about this scene from Tariq himself, to the lyrics, and when Gregory finally lets loose with his students so they can have a bit of fun too. Those dance moves, and the teachers' reactions, are comedy gold.

Ava's surprise at who Jacob, and Zach, are dating

Season 1 episode 11, "Desking" and Season 4 episode 17, "Karaoke"

We know how hilariously unhinged Ava can be, and the girl has no filter. There are SO many amazing Ava moments, it's hard to choose one. But one of my favorites is when Jacob introduces the Abbott staff to his boyfriend, Zach, back in the first season. Ava is surprised that Zach is black, and he corrects her "mispronunciation" of his name. Then they all turn to her and Barbara gives her a look. Love it! The show is so good at making callbacks, and they did it again in season 4's karaoke episode when Zach is there with his boyfriend and friends. Ava does it once again, but this time questioning, "white?" And Zach's boyfriend's says the same thing "it's actually pronounced Wyatt."

Barbara mistakes white celebrities for black stars

Season 2 episode 2, “Wrong Delivery”

One of Barbara's best and funniest moments is when she mistakes certain white celebrities for black actors. For me, it's the confidence and feeling of pride that oozes out of her, but she's so wrong, that is just the most hilarious for me. For example she mistakes Carrie Underwood for Kerry Washington or Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown for Bobby Brown. What's even funnier is that her co-workers just let her think she's right because it's easier that way. This becomes a running joke throughout the series, which is even better.

Gregory's gardening secret is revealed

Season 2 episode 12, "Fight"

If anyone has the best side eye in the comedy series, it has to be Gregory. Those reactions many times are enough to elevate the scene alone. Barbara and Jacob start a garden in season 1, but it isn't until the second season they discover a secret that betrays them. The whole time they thought it was flourishing because of them, it turns out Gregory has been the one to take care of it and that's why it's a success. Gregory side eyes the camera, Barbara and Jacob confidently compliment each other until they realize neither of them did the good work, their disappointment, and then Barbara's allitteration rant - with Jacob telling her to hit him one more time. I love it!

Jacob lets out his feelings at karaoke

Season 4 episode 17, "Karaoke"

The karaoke episode needs another mention here for the most hilarious moment of all! This whole episode was one big comedic gem, though the true highlight is Jacob letting out all his feelings when he runs into ex-boyfriend, Zach. From Barbara and Melissa's complaints that Jacob is pitchy and doesn't use his diaphragm, to Jacob then going hardcore with "Last Resort" and their jumps of surprise, Mr. Johnson completely being tuned in, and the reactions of everyone else there. I love it and it's truly one of my favorite Abbott Elementary moments!

Abbott Elementary season 5 is expected to air in fall 2025 on ABC.
