Bridgerton season 4 is officially slated for a 2026 release on Netflix, with the upcoming chapter focusing on Benedict Bridgerton's enchanting romance with the elusive Lady in Silver, Sophie Baek. While the cast for season 4 is already locked in, it remains unclear who will be joining the ensemble in future seasons, such as the newly confirmed fifth and sixth installments.

Well, we now know of one well-known actor who is throwing their hat in the ring, and it's Scandal star Scott Foley. Foley portrayed the role of Jake Ballard in the hit ABC political thriller series. Now, you can currently catch him in the police procedural Will Trent, playing the role of Dr. Seth McDale.

He, along with several other actors who’ve appeared in Shonda Rhimes’ hit shows, recently attended a Paley Center event celebrating the prolific creator and producer. During the event, Foley was asked by Parade if he’d be interested in joining any of Rhimes’ series he hasn’t been part of, and without missing a beat, he named Bridgerton. His quick and enthusiastic answer made it seem like he’d already considered the idea. Foley described the show as something that “just looks fun,” adding that he’d love the chance to don the elaborate period costumes, reside in the grand estates, and stroll through the drama’s luxurious, historical world.

"If I could put myself in another Shondaland show, I want to be on Bridgerton. I want to wear the clothes, live in those houses, walk those streets, and sound like I know what I'm talking about like they all sound like they know what they're talking about." - Scott Foley

Based on his response, Foley seemed pretty passionate about the idea of stepping into the Bridgerton universe. His excitement didn't seem like casual interest. It felt like a genuine desire to be part of the Regency-era drama. Honestly, with his charm and experience on Shondaland projects, it’s easy to imagine him fitting right in among the lavish sets and dramatic romances of Bridgerton.

I just wonder who he would play. He couldn't be one of the Bridgerton siblings' love interests since he's much older than them. Maybe he could be a new love interest for Violet Bridgerton. I know she currently has something going on with Lady Danbury's younger brother, Lord Marcus, but who's to say there couldn't be room for a new romantic twist? I'm just saying! This could be a great way to shake things up and add some unexpected drama to the mix. After all, Bridgerton loves its drama just as much as its romance!

Other actors like Bellamy Young, known for her role as Mellie Grant on Scandal, and Conrad Ricamora, who played Oliver Hampton on How to Get Away with Murder, also revealed which other Rhimes shows they’d love to join. Young told Parade that she wants to be on a new season of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story if there were to be a second installment, while Ricamora said he'd love to play Dr. Cristina Yang's brother in Grey's Anatomy. While it's unclear if Queen Charlotte will ever return, there's at least a chance of Ricamora joining the Grey’s Anatomy family with the series still ongoing.
