Since the season 2 premiere, Matlock has been delivering shocking episode after shocking episode as Matty and Olympia continue their cat and mouse chase. They have switched sides so much in the past three episodes that it's hard to know whether they are actually enemies or allies. But for right now, the pair appear to be aligned on how to proceed with the Wellbrexa case.
In last week's episode, Matty and Olympia navigated a "security breach" at the firm, which involved someone alluding to the press that there was something more with the firm's handling of the Wellbrexa case. While Olympia nearly got herself into trouble, the pair found a scapegoat to take the fall in order for them to continue pursuing Senior as their target for accountability.
Once again, the team takes on a new case in the latest episode, but Matty and Olympia remain focused on bringing down Senior. But they might hit a snag, or maybe even find a new ally, as a woman from his past arrives. If you're worried that we're approaching the point of the season where reruns begin, don't worry. We still have a few more weeks until that happens. Thankfully, Matlock will airing a new episode on Thursday, October 30, 2025. It's the third week in a row that CBS has aired a new episode of the show (including the first week, which featured two new episodes!). Season 2 episode 4 hasn't been preempted for Halloween or the World Series, which isn't even airing tonight anyway.
However, as we near November and the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season, we should prepare ourselves for a potential midseason break. Last season, Matlock aired eight episodes through mid-December and returned with new episodes in late January. That could be the case again this year since season 2 is on pace to air eight episodes by mid-December. What time is Matlock season 2 episode 4 on CBS?
As with the past two weeks, Matlock season 2 episode 4 airs on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 9/8c on CBS. The episode airs after new episodes of Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage and Ghosts and leads into a new episode of Elsbeth. Technically, Matlock doesn't begin airing until 9:01 p.m., so you can use that extra minute to get situated with your snacks!
If you're not able to watch the episode with cable, you can watch live on Paramount+ with a subscription that allows live television viewing. However, if you can't watch live on either CBS or Paramount+, then you can catch up on the episode on demand on Paramount+ on Friday. New episodes of the show are added to Paramount+ the day after their airing.
What to expect in Matlock season 2 episode 4
Based on how last week's episode ended, we can expect Matty and Olympia to still be on the same page in Matlock season 2 episode 4. There shouldn't have been much of a change in their alliance, and another twist in their dynamic so soon would honestly be a bit tiresome. Matty was able to get her hands on important Wellbrexa documents that can help their mission to take down Senior.
But as alluded to before, Matty and Olympia could hit a bump in the road or find someone willing to help their cause. A "mysterious woman" comes into contact with Matty, but it's unclear in what capacity. Neither the synopsis nor the first-look photos tease this woman. Could it be Eva Muñoz (Justina Machado), Senior's ex-wife who we met last week? Matty hasn't met her yet!
CBS shared the episode's official synopsis and teased this mysterious woman: "As Olympia and the team take on a wrongful death case, Matty meets with a mysterious woman from Senior’s past. Also, Matty reflects on her relationship with her daughter."
If it's Eva, who knows if she'll be a pro or a con for Matty and Olympia. She seemed to be difficult to read during her conversation with Olympia, in which it was insinuated she also might want to take Senior down. Beyond the Wellbrexa of it all, Matty looks back at her relationship with her daughter Ellie as she has been for the past few episodes. Alfie's dad coming back has brought up memories.
