The Simpsons will wrap the first half of season 37 this Sunday, December 14, on FOX, and it's going out with a celebrity from the 2000s and now. What a great way to give the fans something before the latter half begins in 2026. Dare I say, "Woo-hoo"?
Season 37 of the beloved Matt Groening-created animated comedy has been nothing but filled with a strong focus on the Simpsons' kids. They're at that age when life becomes a matter of peer pressure, and to navigate it, Lisa, Bart, and now the youngest, Maggie, have come up with brilliant ideas that seem to win over everyone.
The mid-season finale, "Parahormonal Activity," will feature Maggie speaking, a rare occurrence. In the past, she has been voiced by some of the entertainment industry's legendary talent. Elizabeth Taylor, James Earl Jones, Carol Kane, and Jodie Foster have all supplied the youngster's voice. When necessary, Nancy Cartwright offered her sound in the likes of babbles and coos.
Joining the list is Lindsay Lohan (first reported by TV Insider), best known for her roles in Disney's Freaky Friday franchise and 2004's Mean Girls. She'll bring a preteen essence to Maggie, now a few years older, in the latest installment.
The Simpsons head to the future in "Parahormonal Activity"
If the Simpson family appears differently to you, that's because the older kids, Bart and Lisa, are now teenagers in the near and unavoidable future. Even Maggie is getting older, even though she hasn't reached adolescence and is still in elementary school. Yet, they say those are the best years of childhood.
As we mentioned, Lohan will be voicing a 7-year-old Maggie, but instead of injecting an efferent tone to the character, she'll give her a more terrified appeal. However, it's for the better, as it's over her older brother Bart's irresponsible and careless driving. As she should, because we all know what 'scary' things happen when a Simpson drives.
In the sneak peek above, first shared on TV Insider, you can hear Lohan breathe life into Maggie as she reports to her mom Marge. Bart is rocking long hair, while Lisa is displaying a doom and gloom emotion that typical in teenagers.
"Please, don’t let Bart drive! It’s too scary! He drives so wiggly, and everybody honks at us and yells back words and shows us fingers!"
Meanwhile, Marge herself is going through some changes, and when you add them on top of your kids' stress, the scenario creates a weird and chaotic situation. As for Homer, believe it or not, he's going to be the most normal one throughout "Parahormonal Activity" according to the episode's synopsis.
"Marge copes with the hormonal onslaught hitting her teenage kids in the near future when she's struck by a change in her own life, leaving Homer the only sane person in the family - apparently."
The Simpsons airs Sundays on FOX at 8/7c.
