Ghosts season 5 behind the scenes video teases returns of 2 characters

Are you ready for more Ghosts? Of course you are. This long break is excruciating, and Rose McIver understands. Fortunately, she’s helping us through the drought with a behind-the-scenes sneak peek of Ghosts season 5.

McIver shared a short video on Instagram, which her fans spotted and shared on Twitter, making it clear that two spirits will return to Woodstone Manor. Not the usual Main 8 or the Basement Ghosts, but two spirits that are sure to play an important role in the upcoming season.

Who will definitely return in Ghosts season 5?

There has been plenty of hope that certain spirits will come back. We’re still hoping for Joan, but she wasn’t in the behind-the-scenes sneak peek. Don’t rule her out, though, as the showrunners are not finished with her just yet.

Instead, the sneak tells us that both Patience and Elias are coming back, and this won’t be that surprising considering the way Ghosts season 4 ended. After all, we need to find out how Sam and the Main 8 will get Jay out of his deal with Elias.

At the end of Ghosts season 4, Patience returned to say that evil was on its way. This time, she was very much right. Elias was on his way, and he shared that he had the soul that he needed to move up in management. Jay had signed a contract with him, and he didn’t bother to read everything that was in it. Sure enough, he signed his soul over to Hetty’s late husband.

Will Patience sacrifice herself to save Jay?

Elias needs a soul. There is a good chance that he’ll be willing to switch souls with someone, but who could it be? None of the Main 8 ghosts have really grown as people willing enough to sacrifice themselves for Jay. They wouldn’t even do it for Sam.

However, it’s possible that Patience is ready. She has spent hundreds of years alone in the dirt, sending her a little crazier than she was when she died. It’s possible that she’ll decide it’s time to end this existence and face the evils of Hell. Alternatively, she could find Jay a way out of the contract. She may have some outdated views, but she’s not dumb!

Patience and Elias are sure to be just two of some great spirits coming back for Ghosts season 5. Right now, they are the most important in terms of overall storyline, but we’re also looking forward to seeing more Joan, Stephanie, and others.

Ghosts season 5 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.
