During the first season of Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, the CBS show was a massive success for a variety of reasons. For example, the show did a great job featuring Young Sheldon characters and the sitcom was highlighted by several fantastic comedic performances. With the show set to return for season 2 soon, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage now has the potential to perfect its tone if some changes are made.
Some of the ways that Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage could improve is by altering how some of its main characters are portrayed. For example, it would be refreshing if Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage's lead female characters could develop some bonds instead of always fighting with each other. Just as importantly, if the Ruben character was changed in a basic way, it could become one of the best parts of the sitcom.

Why Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage's Ruben needs to be fleshed out
When fans watch sitcoms, they should be able to sit, forget their troubles, and enjoy some laughs. The funny thing about that is the fact that giving viewers such a worry-free experience takes a lot of work and creates a lot of stress for the team behind those shows. As a result, when a sitcom can create a character like Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage's Ruben, it can be very easy to overly rely on them to do one thing, and make them simplistic.
During the first season of Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, Ruben could always be relied on to add some easy humor to scenes that otherwise might not work. For example, if Georgie Cooper and/or Jim McAllister were struggling while they were at the show's auto service business, the sitcom's writers could insert Ruben to break the tension and elicit a laugh. A sarcastic character who was never afraid to express his mind, Ruben could walk through a scene, mock everyone around him, make viewers laugh, and quickly exit.
Even though getting regular laughs like that makes Ruben a very valuable character for Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, I believe it has made the character fall short of what it could be. After all, the simplicity of how quickly Ruben can make viewers laugh has allowed the show to not bother fleshing the character out very much at all. If viewers learn more about Ruben and the character maintains the same timing that first made him delightful, the character could get much richer laughs that are more satisfying for fans.
