So many great broadcast shows are set to return with brand-new seasons in the fall, especially when it comes to reality TV. Most people view reality TV as their guilty pleasure, but honestly? Survivor is hands down one of the best reality competition series ever, and it's slated to premiere its forty-ninth season on CBS this September. There’s just something so addictive about watching people outwit, outplay, and outlast each other in the middle of nowhere. The drama is nonstop, the alliances are unpredictable, and the challenges are thrilling enough to make you cheer, gasp, and occasionally yell at your TV. Who's going to come out on top this time and secure that $1 million cash prize?

Who isn't completely hooked on Dancing with the Stars? Seriously, where else can you see your favorite celebrities push themselves through grueling routines, spin in sparkling costumes, and sometimes spectacularly stumble in the funniest ways?

The hit reality competition series is gearing up to start airing its thirty-fourth season on ABC, and the cast includes a bunch of familiar faces from all over the entertainment industry. Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough return to host, with Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli coming back as judges.

The Amazing Race season 38

  • Verdict: Skip
  • Premiere date on CBS: Sept. 25

Look, there's nothing wrong with The Amazing Race per se. It's actually one of the most creative and thrilling reality competition series out there. But honestly? This season, I just can’t get as excited. There are so many other reality shows returning this fall, and I think your time could be better spent watching something else.

But who knows? Maybe you enjoy watching contestants jet-set around the world, race against the clock, and scramble through crazy challenges. If so, then you should absolutely tune in to The Amazing Race season 38 when it premieres on CBS in September.

The Voice season 24

The Voice season 28

  • Verdict: Watch
  • Premiere date on NBC: Sept. 22

Even though American Idol isn’t returning this fall, fans can look forward to a fresh season of its rival, The Voice. The twenty-eighth installment of the popular singing reality competition series is scheduled to premiere on NBC in September. Carson Daly returns as host, with the coaching panel consisting of Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, and Snoop Dogg. Bublé was a coach on the previous season, while McEntire, Horan, and Snoop Dogg were coaches on much older installments.

Once again, we'll see a bunch of incredibly talented contestants stepping onto the stage, hoping to impress the coaches with their vocals, charisma, and star potential.

Here are two more reality shows you should watch this fall, and one you should skip right on over:

  • The Golden Bachelor season 2 (ABC - watch) - Sept. 24
  • Shark Tank season 17 (ABC - skip) - Sept. 24
  • On Brand with Jimmy Fallon (NBC - watch) - Sept. 30
