After an eight-month wait, Brilliant Minds is back. We get to see where Dr. Oliver Wolf ends up after the major reveals at the end of the first season. On top of that, we see where each of the interns are, and where Dr. Pierce finds herself after her career completely blew up.
Brilliant Minds season 2 will still be focused on unusual cases. Think of it as a little like House, but with a doctor who is far more interested in the people he’s treating compared to the Hugh Laurie character. Zachary Quinto’s Wolf has face blindness, so he has to navigate the world in a different way, and that has led to empathy for others.

When does Brilliant Minds season 2 premiere?
Make sure you’re ready, because there isn’t long left to wait. Brilliant Minds season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Monday, Sept. 22 at 10/9c on NBC. It has landed the same time slot as season 1, which could be a good thing. While this time slot is a tricky one, consistency is important to build a loyal fan base.
We had worried that there wouldn’t be a second season of the series with how long it took to get a renewal. So, we’ll take it as soon as possible. It’s important to watch live to make it clear that this is a show you want to stick around.

When is Brilliant Minds on?
You’ve watched the premiere, great! With the world of streaming, it’s easy to think that shows are coming as a binge-watch. That is still not the case for everything, and network TV is not going to suddenly change to a binge-model.
The episodes will air on Mondays, at least until Thanksgiving. There can be changes around January when TV shows return from winter break, but we’ll know more about that as November/December hits.
If you happen to miss an episode live, jump straight on Peacock for them. They drop on Tuesdays on Peacock, and the sooner you watch, the better you tell NBC you want more of the drama.

What is Brilliant Minds season 2 about?
If you haven’t caught up on season 1, now is the time to do it. Episodes are on Peacock to binge it. After all, Brilliant Minds season 2 is going to pick up off the back of the cliffhanger ending.
For Dr. Wolf, it’s all about some of the secrets that were revealed to him at the end of the season. For his whole adult life, he believed that his dad died the night that his dad abandoned him in the middle of nowhere. It turned out that his dad was placed in a psychiatric ward, and now he’s out and wants to see his son.
Well, Oliver learned that his mom lied to him all that time ago. This led to Oliver completely abandoning everything and everyone around him to meet his dad in a coffee shop, so we’ll get to see the aftermath of that—both with his dad and with the other people, such as Josh, in his life.
As for Dr. Pierce, she has a decision to make. She was suspended when a complaint came in due to her treating her husband’s affair partner. This is likely at the hands of her husband, who she decided to leave at the end of the first season, as she couldn’t move past the affair that he had. I don’t really blame her! She starts the season considering a career outside of Bronx General, so she’s still helping people, but not in the same capacity.
Then there are the interns. There are some new interns coming in, and the photos from the new season suggest that Jacob is heading to another part of the hospital—the scrubs tell us everything.

Who is in the Brilliant Minds season 2 cast?
Most of the first season cast is expected to return, but there will be some new faces joining the hospital in various roles. Of course, we’ll get to see Zachary Quinto back as Dr. Oliver Wolf, and Tamberla Perry will be back as Carol Pierce.
We’ll also see the following cast members return:
- Ashleigh LaThrop as Ericka Kinney
- Alex MacNicoll as Van Markus
- Aury Krebs as Dana Dang
- Spence Moore II as Jacob Nash
- Teddy Sears as Josh Nichols
- Donna Murphy as Muriel Landon
We also expect to see Mandy Patinkin as Noah Wolf, the older version of Oliver’s father, who was seen at the end of the first season. We need to see the two spend some time together.
The first season included some flashbacks, which included Ted Sutherland as Teen Oliver Wolf and Jaden Waldman as Young Oliver Wolf. Gray Powell played the younger version of Noah Wolf, and we could see him return if there are more flashbacks as Oliver deals with the feeling of betrayal.

As mentioned, there are some new interns. We’ll also meet a new nurse in the season, with the following joining Brilliant Minds season 2:
- Brian Altemus as Charlie Porter
- John Clarence Stewart as Anthony Thorne
- Al Calderon as Nurse Scotty Silva
- Bellamy Young as Amelia Frederick
