Bronx General Hospital is about to get more staff in Brilliant Minds season 2, as two actors are joining the series as series regulars. One of those 911: Lone Star fans will certainly recognize.
Brilliant Minds follows Dr. Oliver Wolf, who has face blindness, but he doesn’t let that stop him from treating his patients. In fact, he sees it as his superpower, as he’s able to see past the patient and the symptoms to figure out what’s really wrong.
He’s joined by a group of interns, who also have their own superpowers. However, the end of the season saw a break for Wolf, as he learned that his mother had lied to him all his life about the death of his father. Now Wolf wants answers, and he’s going to turn to his toxic traits as he gets them based on the way the first season ended.

2 new doctors join the hospital in Brilliant Minds season 2
Brian Altemus and John Clarence Stewart will join Brilliant Minds season 2 as series regulars. They will both play doctors, but they’re not the type that Wolf is going to get along with right away. Maybe Wolf can teach them better ways of treating patients, if he decides to return to Bronx after learning the truth about his dad.
Altemus will take on the role of Dr. Charlie Porter, who Deadline describes as a new neurology resident. He is a man who is guarded and competitive, viewing medicine as a sport rather than a calling. This could cause some problems with his fellow residents, especially with Jacob Nash, who came from a football background before going into medicine.
Stewart will play a mid-career ER doctor called Dr. Anthony Thorne. He views ER work as blue-collar work, and he focuses on helping a little rather than working on what is best for the patient. We’re certainly going to see emergency work vs. getting deeper into the problem, and it’s going to cause issues for Dr. Wolf.

You’ll recognize both of these new actors in Brilliant Minds season 2. John Clarence Stewart is one for the 911: Lone Star fans, as he played Yusif Adiyah, who would eventually marry Marjan in the 911: Lone Star final season. His TV credits also include Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Luke Cage, and Hawaii Five-0.
Meanwhile, Altemus recently appeared in the one-season Prime Video series Shelter, based on Harlan Coban’s YA books. He also starred in The Time Traveler’s Wife for HBO and Grand Army on Netflix.
Brilliant Minds season 2 is set to premiere in September 2025 on NBC. It will air on Mondays at 10/9c.
