Just when you thought you'd seen it all in the world of reality dating shows, Hulu is pushing the envelope with a daring new series that puts virginity front and center. Yes, you read that right! Forget those dating shows that throw seasoned flirts and serial daters into dramatic love triangles. Are You My First? is flipping the script, and Hulu has recruited two Bachelor Nation stars to host this bold new dating experiment.
Originally called Virgin Island, the reality show's name was eventually changed to Are You My First? However, it retained the same concept. It was picked up last year by ITV America and Plimsoll Productions, and is set to be released on Hulu on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025. The exact episode count for the first season hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s likely we’ll see at least eight episodes. Whether the show will release all episodes at once or drop them weekly remains unclear. Regardless, the unique concept alone is sure to generate significant buzz from the very first episode.
Are You My First? is a show about a large group of attractive virgins brought together in a beautiful tropical setting created specifically for them. They have the chance to pursue intimacy, love, and possibly their first romantic or physical relationship without facing judgment. With everyone looking for "the one," some contestants will find love, while others may leave feeling frustrated, upset, or heartbroken. Like every other dating show, you can definitely expect plenty of drama as emotions run high.
Here's more of what the show is about via the Hulu press site:
"In this groundbreaking new dating experiment, the largest, hottest group of virgins ever assembled search for intimacy, love – and maybe their first – in a tropical paradise designed just for them. For the first time, they’re free to explore their connections without judgment, allowing these sexy young singles to embark on a heated yet heartfelt journey packed with romantic dates, revealing challenges, and new love interests eager to find “the one.” Who will find that special someone? And who will go home hot, bothered and heartbroken?"

Two popular reality TV personalities, Colton Underwood and Kaitlyn Bristowe, are set to host. Underwood was a contestant on The Bachelorette season 14 before becoming the lead of The Bachelor season 23. In addition, he was a contestant on Bachelor in Paradise season 5. He also gained widespread attention for openly discussing his virginity and later starring in his own Netflix docuseries about coming out as gay.

Bristowe was a contestant on The Bachelor season 19 and later starred as the lead on The Bachelorette season 11. She also won Dancing with the Stars season 29 alongside her professional dance partner, Artem Chigvintsev.
It'll be exciting to see how they guide the contestants through the ups and downs of this groundbreaking dating experiment, offering support, encouragement, and insight as these singles embark on their first journey into love and intimacy.
Hulu has another reality dating show in the works, titled Love Overboard, and it features another Bachelor Nation star as its host. Gabby Windey, who was the co-lead of The Bachelorette season 19, will host this new dating series. It doesn't have an official release date at the moment, but it's confirmed to come out sometime in 2026. Be on the lookout for this series as well!
