Netflix taps polarizing Bachelor lead to host new dating show

THE BACHELOR
THE BACHELOR

To those of us who are longtime Bachelor Nation fanatics, there's been many Bachelors and Bachelorettes that have come along and been controversial or polarizing. We love them, we hate them, we love to hate them. There's a number of interesting personalities out there, and many of them end up making it on the ABC dating reality series.'

Though once their time on the franchise is over, I think many of the contestants and leads try to move on. Either to do other things, or step away from the spotlight. Well, there's one Bachelor who was certainly viewed as one of the villains during his time on the franchise. And that would be, Nick Viall.

THE BACHELOR: THE GREATEST SEASONS Ð EVER! - "Nick Viall" - Nick Viall never gave up on love despite how challenging his journey became to find his soul mate. He was one of the final two men on both Andi Dorfman's and Kaitlyn Bristowe's seasons, yet never had the opportunity to propose. He had another chance to find love on "Bachelor in Paradise" with Jen Saviano from Ben Higgins' season. He fell in love but their relationship didn't ultimately end with a proposal. Despite his fears of

We first met this controversial guy in 2014 on The Bachelorette season 10, which saw Andi Dorfman trying to find the one. He wasn't it though, coming in second place. And let's just say, he didn't take it very well and had some rude comments to say. Then he tried his hand at finding love again in The Bachelorette season 11, being the runner-up once more.

Then there was Bachelor in Paradise season 3, which aired in 2016, ended up with him not proposing. Finally, he made his way as the lead of The Bachelor season 21 later that year. On both of the last shows, he had a redemption arc of sorts. Though he still remained an interesting guy us fans didn't know what to do with.

Well, now he's found the one in Natalie Joy. The couple was married in 2024 and share one child together. But.. Well, Viall is 44 years old while Joy is 26, putting an 18-year age gap between them. It's raised eyebrows about the former Bachelor once again. Though now the two are taking that and making a show out of it on Netflix to show that maybe love really doesn't see age.

The streamer announced a number of reality shows coming back and some new ones getting added to its roster. One of them is Age of Attraction with Nick Viall and Nicole Joy set as hosts. The 8-episode series is set to premiere sometime in 2026 on Netflix.

Described as a "dating experiment," the new show does not see age, per they synopsis. Only attraction and love. There's going to be "daters" trying to look for their soulmate ages ranging from 22 years old to 59. The series sets out to see wheter "age is just an umber. Or will the years come between them?"

With Viall and Joy having that nearly two decade age gap, they're the perfect ones to host Age of Attraction. They can relate to the single contestants, and perhaps even give them some advice along the way. Just like they do on their podcast, The Viall Files.
