The wait has finally ended! Not for the series premiere of 911: Nashville on ABC. We still have a bit of waiting to do until that exciting moment. But the network did at very long last share the first teaser footage from the upcoming 911 spinoff series with fans! After seeing the cast portraits as their characters, we can now see them in action in the newly shared teaser.
On Wed. Aug. 27, ABC surprised the 911 fandom with the drop of the teaser trailer on Instagram. It's explosive, it's thrilling, it's everything we were hoping for, and we couldn't be more hooked! The teaser confirms itself as the next great offshoot of the beloved flagship and a worthy successor to the dearly departed spinoff 911: Lone Star. Yes, it did all that in only 15 seconds!
Chris O'Donnell's character Captain Don Hart of the 113 opens the teaser with a stirring (and very Bobby Nash) quote that will give you chills: "We form a bond stronger than blood as ours is a family that is forged in fire." And he means that literally! The teaser then showcases the team engaging in death-defy live-saving protocols, like jumping on bridges and running from massive flames.
Watch the 911: Nashville teaser trailer in the video below!
While Captain Hart is the only character we hear speak in the teaser, we also get first looks at Jessica Capshaw as Hart's wife Blythe, Kimberly Williams-Paisley as 911 operator Cammie Raleigh, and LeAnn Rimes as Dixie Bennings, the mother of firefighter and stripper Blue Bennings (Hunter McVey). Don and Blythe are also parents to 113 firefighter Ryan (Michael Provost).
Additional cast members in the new spinoff series include Hailey Kilgore as firefighter and singer Taylor Thompson and Juani Feliz as former surgeon and paramedic Roxie Alba. 911: Nashville's cast might be one of the more unique ones in the franchise as it features characters that aren't first responders, 911 operators, or firefighters. Two major stars are family members.
That's true of 911, of course, as spouses and children have been added to the main cast, but beginning the series with Capshaw and Rimes in series regular roles that aren't directly related to the fire station seems to suggest there will be a bit more soapy drama outside of the usually wild 911 calls and nail-biting rescue missions. But we didn't get a tease of that drama in the teaser just yet.
It's safe to say that ABC did exactly what it needed to do with that teaser and has fans locked in and ready to watch every single episode! The theories have started online about the history between Don and Dixie and the possibility of some interesting paternity twists to unravel, but playing that guessing hame is never that easy. Ah, the series premiere can't come soon enough!
911: Nashville premieres Thursday, Oct. 9 at 9/8c on ABC.
