As we get closer to fall TV, we’re learning more about the new shows. 911: Nashville is one of the new shows we can’t wait to see, especially with its star-studded cast.

Now, we have a few details about the characters. One thing that stands out immediately is how LeAnne Rimes’ Dixie is going to be a rival of sorts to Jessica Capshaw’s Blythe. Will the two end up going head-to-head?

Dixie is a woman who believes she deserves more in 911: Nashville

911: Nashville showrunner Rashad Raisani has broken down some of the things to expect in the new series, as well as some of the character details. This is going to be a little more soapy than the other two 911 shows, and that could be a good thing. It means a lot of family drama to enjoy.

Part of the family drama is going to come in the form of Dixie, played by LeAnn Rimes, a former backup singer who has always felt like she deserves more. In fact, she is willing to fight for what she thinks is hers, and that could cause trouble for Jessica Capshaw’s Blythe.

It turns out that Dixie and Don (Chris O’Donnell) come from the same place, and they knew each other when they were younger. Is it possible that she believes Blythe stole her man? It certainly seems so.

Blythe is a woman in love in the 911 spinoff

Meanwhile, Blythe is a woman who comes from money and prestige, and marrying Don was not something her parents wanted for her. However, he came into her life when there was a fire at her ranch, and it sounds like it was love at first sight. The two ended up getting hitched, and that’s where we find them to start the series.

Things may take a turn, though, as it turns out, there’s some sort of secret that has been hidden. This could come from Dixie, especially considering how she has a son who is at the firehouse. Is it possible that her son, Blue, and Blythe’s son, Ryan, share the same father, Don? That’s the current theory circling around.

If Blythe is blindsided by this, it could open a chance for Dixie to get her claws in. Now it would all depend on the type of man Don is and whether he is going to keep working on things with his wife. Capshaw has said that Blythe and Don have an honesty between them that is “incredibly aspirational,” so I get the sense that Don is one of the good ones. It’s not going to stop Dixie from trying and creating drama, though!

"They show up, mistakes and all, misgivings and all, and they really make the choice to be with each other every day with that same level of commitment. And you’re going to see them have it all tested.”

911: Nashville premieres on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 9/8c on ABC.
