Crossovers are basically the ultimate gift to fans, and honestly, they never fail to make me giddy. There’s something exhilarating about seeing two worlds collide, characters you adore interact in ways you never imagined, and storylines twist into thrilling new directions. There's one show on ABC that has been involved in a few crossovers over its run so far, and fans are hoping to see another when its spinoff series starts airing.

It's the popular procedural drama series 911. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear created 911, and the show has seen much success since its premiere back in 2018. It revolves around the intense, high-pressure lives of first responders in Los Angeles as they tackle life-or-death emergencies while navigating their own personal challenges.

Angela Bassett, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Guzman, and many other talented actors make up the cast. Peter Krause was also part of the cast until his character died in the eighth season. The upcoming ninth season will continue to follow the brave first responders of Los Angeles, while also touching on Bobby's death, which has left Station 118 reeling with grief and adjusting to life without one of their most beloved team members.

911 season 9 is set to premiere on ABC this fall, along with its brand-new spinoff series 911: Nashville. Since 911: Nashville's announcement, fans have been hoping and praying that the two shows will collide in a crossover event, and now, thanks to a recent hint from the show’s boss, it looks like those hopes might not be so far-fetched after all.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, 911 co-creator Tim Minear teased what's to come next in 911 season 9 as well as hinted at the possibility of a crossover between the flagship series and 911: Nashville. The news outlet blatantly asked Minear if fans should expect a crossover in the future now that the shows will air back-to-back. His response of "I think the network would love that" seems to suggest that ABC is seriously open to the idea.

While this wasn't an official confirmation, it lets us know that a crossover is very much on the table. When it'll happen remains a mystery, but we've already started imagining the epic scenarios, high-stakes rescues, and team-ups that could unfold when the fearless first responders of Los Angeles join forces with their Nashville counterparts.

911 previously had a crossover event with its other spinoff series, 911: Lone Star. In addition, the hit procedural drama had a crossover with the short-lived medical drama series Doctor Odyssey, which was set in the same universe.

911 season 9 is scheduled to start airing on ABC on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 8/7c, followed by 911: Nashville on the same day and network at 9/8c.
