Ever since Scrubs originally ended on ABC, there have been dedicated fans who've wanted to see the series return. However, that seemed like a pipe dream for many years until the plans for the Scrubs revival began to pick up a lot of momentum. Now that the show's return has been officially confirmed, there has been a lot of excitement about the plans for the revival's cast and plot.
When the Scrubs revival was officially announced, fans learned that it would star Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, and Zach Braff. After that, it was confirmed that Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley would be returning as their beloved characters in recurring roles. Now, it has been announced that another two of the original show's cast members will appear and that 7 new actors will be joining the series.

Robert Maschio and Phill Lewis will be part of the Scrubs revival
During an August 2025 episode of Zach Braff and Donald Faison's "Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald" podcast, the two pals and co-stars spoke extensively about the Scrubs revival. During that discussion, Zach stated that everyone from the original show would be brought back.
"Everybody's coming back. Not everyone's going to be in every episode. Obviously, you have to work around everybody's schedules, but everybody's coming back." Based on a recent cast update, Zach's comments don't appear to have been hyperbolic.
TVLine is reporting that Robert Maschio and Phill Lewis are part of the Scrubs revival. Aside from the show's main stars, Maschio appeared in more episodes than any other actor. On IMDb, Maschio is credited with portraying Todd "The Todd" Quinlan in 128 Scrubs episodes. When compared to Maschio, Lewis appeared in far, far fewer episodes. Only credited with being part of five Scrubs episodes, Lewis's portrayal of Hooch was still so memorable that the character who was "crazy" had a huge impact on fans.
TVLine's report also confirmed the casting of several actors who are new to Scrubs. According to the outlet, former Saturday Night Live star Vanessa Bayer will portray a character named Sibby who runs a wellness program that operates inside of Scrubs' fictional hospital. Joel Kim Booster from the show Loot will also be appearing in the show as an attending doctor. The outlet also reported that the Scrubs revival will feature five new doctors who will be portrayed by Ava Bunn, Jacob Dudman, David Gridley, Layla Mohammadi, and Amanda Morrow.
