After eight seasons on The CW, The Vampire Diaries came to an end in 2017 starring Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and Ian Somerhalder. The vampire-centric story also spawned two popular spin-offs, The Originals and Legacies, which helped the franchise continue. Though not all of the cast and crew always get the chance to reunite since all three series' are done. Thankfully, a very happy occasion brought many of them together again recently!

The Vampire Diaries star Michael Trevino, who played werewolf Tyler Lockwood, tied the knot with model Bregje Heinen on June 20, 2025. The couple's wedding was in Spain, and in attendance were multiple members from his TVD family. As fans of the show and franchise, even after all these years later, you know that it's just heartwarming for us to see. Check out the video below, plus Dobrev's Instagram for even more snaps from the big day.

As you can see above, those who flew out for the happy day are Dobrev, Candice King who played Caroline Forbes, Kayla Ewell who was Vicki Donovan, her onscreen brother Zach Roerig as Matt Donovan, Charles Michael Davis who was Marcel, and Yellowjackets actor Steven Krueger who played Josh Rosza on The Originals and is actually King's fiancée. Told you it was a star-studded reunion.

Creator and showrunner of The Vampire Diaries and its sequel series', Julie Plec, was also there to celebrate alongside The Originals writer Carina Adly MacKenzie. It's truly so special to see how close the cast and crew still are after all this time. Though Wesley and Somerhalder weren't there, that doesn't mean they don't have a close relationship to everyone else.

For the most part, the cast still stays in touch and sees each other at fan conventions and other events. Again, this is exactly what we love to see as fans of the actors and the show. Everyone was shown to have a blast at the wedding, and it's just so nice to see many of them together again.

Recently, Plec revealed that she has ideas for more The Vampire Diaries spin-offs, and would be happy to do them if The CW was open to doing more. You know, in the age of revivals and sequels, why not give TVD the chance to do so too? Even if there's already three shows that have been made, so what? I'd be down for it! Maybe we could get some cameos from these OG stars.
