The Brilliant Minds season 2 cast just got bigger with the addition of a talented actress from the comedy sitcom Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Many may know her from her previous role as the glamorous, sharp-witted Jacqueline White, whose over-the-top antics and unforgettable one-liners made her a fan favorite on the hit Netflix series. It's none other than Jane Krakowski!
According to Variety, Krakowski has been cast as a guest star in the upcoming season of the medical drama series. Her casting comes a little over a month after the Brilliant Minds season 2 cast added four new guest stars. Krakowski will reportedly make a guest appearance in the fourth episode, playing a character named Arianna Burnett. Arianna is described as a driven and influential businesswoman who's determined to fight her conservatorship, even as her family grows increasingly worried.
It'll be interesting to see how this character fits into the storyline for the fourth episode. Will Arianna be a patient at Bronx General Hospital? Based on the conservatorship situation, it appears that way, but the only way to know for sure is by tuning in when Brilliant Minds season 2 premieres on NBC on Sept. 22 at 10/9c.
As mentioned earlier, Krakowski is joined by several other guest stars this season. They are reality stars Connor Tomlinson and Porsha Williams, and actresses Molly Bernard and Laura Vandervoort. Additional newcomers to the series for its second season are Al Calderon, Brian Altemus, John Clarence Stewart, and Bellamy Young. Calderon, Altemus, and Stewart are all series regulars, while Young is signed on as a recurring guest star.
For her role as Jacqueline White in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Krakowski earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She is also best known for her iconic role as Jenna Maroney in the comedy sitcom 30 Rock, and as Elaine Vassal in the legal drama series Ally McBeal. Other acting gigs include main roles in the TV shows Dickinson and Schmigadoon!
Brilliant Minds comes from Michael Grassi. It's a medical drama series inspired by the works of the late neurologist and author Oliver Sacks. The show mainly follows Oliver Wolf, an unconventional yet exceptionally talented neurologist, as he works with a team of young interns at Bronx General Hospital on some of the most baffling and complex psychological cases. Zachary Quinto stars in the lead role as Dr. Oliver Wolf. Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Teddy Sears, and others are also in the cast.
