Can you believe that Transplant is coming to an end? We’re almost at the Transplant series finale, and there’s an emergency within the hospital walls while the doctors continue to grieve their personal loss.

In some good news, Transplant was always envisioned as a four-season story. It takes us through Bashir’s residency program, as he focused on requalifying after his move from Syria. Now that four-year program has come to an end, and Bashir has a situation to deal with in the hospital. All this means that the final season was written as a final season, and this episode will bring closure.

There’s a gas leak in Transplant season 4, episode 10

The sneak peek immediately makes it clear what the in-hospital emergency is going to be. At first, it starts with a patient asleep in his bed, even though he hadn’t been given anything for that to happen. Then it moves to a woman, Madiha, who knows Bashir from Turkey, who collapses in the bed while speaking with him.

It’s only when Bashir starts to suffer some symptoms that he realizes what it is. That’s just as the hospital fire alarm goes off, only it’s probably not the smoke alarm and likely a CO detector to indicate the gas leak.

Bashir is always one to push through what he’s feeling and experiencing to help other people. He needs to make sure everyone gets out of the room safely, even if it means trying to keep his head clear while he suffers from the symptoms of the gas leak.

Take a look at the sneak peek for the Transplant season 4 finale:

Bashir continues to deal with his grief as Transplant ends

There’s a clear indication that Bash is still working on handling his grief. It turns out that Madiha arrived a week earlier and tried to get in touch with Bashir, but he hadn’t replied to her. We know that he was busy with handling his loss during that time. He had to travel to Montreal for Mags’ funeral, and he needed time to handle all of that.

However, he chooses not to get into it. Now is not the time for that, and patients don’t need to know his personal life. What is interesting is that he can just push past the thoughts of the loss to focus on his work.

What is interesting is that Elliot wasn’t at his clinic. I can’t help but feel like there is some bigger reason for that, as it seems like such a throwaway line otherwise.

Transplant will air its series finale on Thursday, July 17 at 8/7c on NBC.
