Transplant season 4 has moved on from Bash’s flashbacks from his time in Syria. Now it’s about his time escaping and getting to Canada, and we learned in the first two episodes that he met an aid worker named Elliot who helped him and Amira get to Canada.
It turns out that things took a turn at some point. Bash left, but he didn’t get a chance to explain why in the previous episode. It looks like we’ll soon get to find out, as he starts facing his past and making amends.

The final season is focused on Bash’s time when he first arrived in Canada. We know that a man named Elliot sponsored him, and it turns out that he did more than that. He offered him a place to stay and helped get him and Amira on their feet. However, things changed, and it sounded initially like Elliot had done something to betray Bash’s trust.
That wasn’t the case at all when you watch this exclusive sneak peek we have thanks to our friends at NBCUniversal. Bash was the one who chose to leave, and it wasn’t on good terms with Elliot. In fact, Elliot is shocked to see Bash, and he makes it clear that Bash’s wording about leaving is hurtful.
What exactly did Elliot do? Bash says he didn’t do anything at all, so why did Bash leave? This conversation is opening up many more questions about whether Elliot had actually betrayed Bash in some way. Was it pride that got in the way of Bash? Or was it linked to the fact that he couldn’t get his medical records over, and that led to a feeling of being a failure to Elliot?
Elliot does ask about Bash’s plans once his residency is over, and we know that things are up in the air in Transplant. There is only one spot at the hospital, and it’s between him and Mags. Both of them deserve the spot, but Devi needs to make a decision, and she’s likely to make it soon.
If Bash doesn’t get it, what will he do? This is a man who just wants to help people, and at least he now has his medical license and training to be able to get a job elsewhere. However, this was the hospital that gave him his start, and he’ll probably end up feeling as lost as Theo has when not working at the place if he doesn’t get to stay there!
Transplant airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC.
