Who doesn't love reality TV? It’s the ultimate guilty pleasure, full of the kind of drama you just can’t script. In fact, one This Is Us actress recently revealed they're completely obsessed with the long-running reality competition series Survivor. Honestly, it's easy to see why because that show is pure entertainment.

Chrissy Metz, who starred as Kate Pearson in all six seasons of This Is Us, recently came on fellow actress Busy Philipps' late-night talk show Busy This Week to share some candid insights about her career. She discussed how challenging her time on The Masked Singer was, as well as her surprising obsession with Survivor.

Metz competed on The Masked Singer season 11, which ultimately saw Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical movies) come in first place as the goldfish. Metz finished in fourth place as the poodle moth. She told Philipps on her show that her experience on The Masked Singer was "the hardest thing" she believes she has ever done.

She explained that she had been asked to join the singing competition series several times before, but she initially declined because she felt it would be too physically demanding. In the end, she ended up signing on for the eleventh season, not knowing that she would eventually be wearing the most difficult costume. Still, she pushed through and made it really far in the competition.

Phillips then asked her if she would go on any other reality competition show, to which Metz eagerly replied that her dream is to compete on Survivor. When asked if she's a fan of Survivor, Metz responded by saying that she's obsessed with the show.

"If I had my dream druthers and I was a very different person, it would be Survivor. I'm obsessed with Survivor." - Chrissy Metz

Survivor has been airing new episodes on CBS since 2000. There have been 48 seasons so far, with its most recent season ending its run back in May 2025. But you know what the show has yet to do? A full-blown celebrity season.

Imagine the drama, alliances, and blindsides if a group of actors, athletes, and reality TV stars were dropped on an island and forced to compete under the same brutal conditions as the regular castaways. That would be reality television gold and surely be a ratings powerhouse, drawing in both longtime fans and curious viewers eager to see their favorite celebrities tested like never before.

It's a surprise that Survivor hasn’t taken this step yet, considering how successful celebrity editions have been for other reality shows. We highly doubt the series is going anywhere anytime soon, so maybe somewhere down the line, CBS will finally take the plunge and bring a star-studded cast to the island. The day that happens, it will likely be one of the most talked-about seasons ever.
