If you’re settling in to watch a new episode of The Voice tonight, you’re going to be in for quite a surprise as the show’s schedule is about to get shaken up once again.

Just a few short weeks after The Voice moved to a once-a-week format to make room for NBC’s coverage of the NBA on Tuesday nights, the long-running singing competition series is about to change up its Monday night schedule as well. Since the start of the season in September, The Voice has been airing two-hour episodes on Monday nights beginning at 8 p.m. ET. That changes tonight.

Beginning with the November 3 episode, The Voice will no longer open the night and instead will be airing an hour later. But that’s not the only change. In addition to starting an hour later with episodes beginning at 9 p.m. ET, the episodes will now only be an hour long. This change is to accommodate the arrival of the new season of St. Denis Medical and the broadcast debut of the Peacock comedy, The Paper, which will begin airing next Monday.

It’s a change that is definitely going to take some getting used to, as The Voice has typically always aired at least one two-hour episode every week. The move is also a departure from tradition for Monday nights where The Voice has opened the night for nearly its entire run, serving as a strong lead-in for many shows over the years.

While The Voice will be moving to one-hour episodes beginning on November 3, fans can still expect the usual format for the season with tonight’s episode continuing the Knockouts.

As the Knockouts continue, Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire will each pair two artists to compete in a knockout performance. After performing solo songs, the coaches will select one artist to move on to the Playoffs, while the other artist’s journey will come to an end.

This year, the coaches also have a “Mic Drop” available which they can use for an artist who wows them during the round which will give the artist a one in four chance of performing at the Rose Parade. America will vote for the four artists who earn their coach’s Mic Drop and the artist who receives the most votes will get to perform at the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day 2026.

We’ll see if any coach uses their Mic Drop during the November 3 episode of The Voice when it airs at 9/8c on NBC as the show settles into its new time slot!
