It’s been five years since Supernatural came to an end, but fans are still wanting more. We’ll get something close, as there is a Supernatural reunion happening on a different series.

This different series is definitely not for the younger fans of Supernatural. Yes, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins will all appear in the final season of The Boys. For Ackles, it’s one of his big shows right now, as he is confirmed as a series regular for The Boys season 5, but for Padalecki and Collins, they’re coming along for a ride in a yet-to-be-disclosed capacity.

Since Ackles was cast as Soldier Boy on The Boys, many Supernatural fans wanted to know when Padalecki and Collins would also join. It’s not like The Boys creator Eric Kripke isn’t a stranger to working with actors he’s worked with in the past. In fact, Jim Beaver has appeared in multiple episodes of the superhero series, so it’s an even bigger Supernatural reunion happening!

“It was weird. It was like inviting my friends over to somebody else’s house for dinner. “I was like, ‘Listen, guys, don’t make me look bad. I got to stay here.’ They were amazing. I can't wait to talk more about it because it was quite an experience.”

When talking with PEOPLE Magazine, Ackles shared about the weirdness that it was bringing his former co-stars onto the series. He made it clear that while they’re visiting, he has to stay here. For those who have missed it, Ackles will get his own The Boys prequel series with Aya Cash, who played Stormfront, set in a time before The Seven, titled Vought Rising.

It’s unclear just how many scenes Ackles will film with Padalecki and Collins. However, it does sound like there are some real reunions happening on the screen. He couldn’t share too much, as this is a show that benefits from zero spoilers being shared during the filming process. At least it sounds like they didn't let him down with his request.

The Boys season 5 isn’t going to be the end of Soldier Boy, although it may be the end of the present-day Soldier Boy. We’ll have to wait to see how that storyline plays out. What we do know is that we’re getting a prequel series.

Ackles can’t share a lot about Vought Rising, either, but that’s not because of spoilers. It’s because he only has a handful of scripts at this point.

He is a busy man. Right now, he’s starring in Countdown, also on Prime Video, and he continues to run the Family Business Beer Company with his wife and brother-in-law. However, while he is busy with all his adventures, he’s not as busy as he was when filming Supernatural, which would take nine-and-a-half months to film 23 episodes per season. Countdown is now the longest at 13 episodes, and it’s much easier for the actor to be able to spend time with his family.
