When we first learned that Supernatural was leaving Netflix, we were certainly disappointed. What did that mean for those of us still in the middle of a binge-watch? What did it mean for accessing the show in the future?
Shows come and go from streaming platforms all the time, but Supernatural has been a staple on Netflix since 2012. That 13 years of it being on the same platform, so to hear it is moving is a bit of a shock. However, it’s not completely surprising, as we knew the deal between Netflix and The CW had come to an end, and older CW shows would leave the streamer around five years after they wrapped up on the network.
Those five years are done, but we don’t have to wait too long to get another streaming home. In fact, Supernatural will have two streaming homes in the future!

Supernatural is heading to Prime Video
The first home will be Prime Video — and yes, this is to watch with your Prime membership and not to buy the episodes. You will still be able to buy the episodes if you want, and I do recommend doing this just so you can watch whenever you want and not worry about a change of streaming platform.
The great news is you can start your Supernatural binge-watch before it leaves Netflix. The Winchester brothers will take over Prime Video on Monday, Dec. 1, and it isn’t leaving Netflix until Thursday, Dec. 18. It could be fun watching the episodes on the different platforms to see if there are any changes to the music rights, as this is often the case with streaming deals — yes, Netflix had some different music to the songs you’d hear on the DVDs!

The Winchester Brothers have made a great deal elsewhere
Once Supernatural leaves Netflix, there will be a couple of days where it is only on Prime Video. Don’t worry, it’s staying on the Amazon streamer.
On Monday, Dec. 22, it will get another home (as well as Amazon). Peacock will also land the rights to the series all about hunting demons, monsters, and ghosts.
It’s rare for a series to get two homes, but it just shows how popular this 15-season series is. Fans who has been around for the last 20 years and those who are new to the show consistently tune in and chat about the episodes, so it’s not surprising that multiple streamers have wanted to get their hands on the episodes.
Supernatural will head to Prime Video on Monday, Dec. 1 and then Peacock on Monday, Dec. 22.
