As the rest of the world bids farewell to Halloween for another year, Strictly Come Dancing is doing the same. The beloved BBC One dancing program aired its annual Halloween Spooktacular just one day after the big holiday, making for a frightfully fun weekend of spooky, horror, and Gaga-inspired routines destined to entertain us. And that's exactly what it did, as the Halloween Special was one of the best we've seen in a long time - especially after last week's Icons Week missed the mark again.
When all was said and danced, it was Ellie and Vito who unfortunately found themselves eliminated after a Dance-Off with Balvinder and Julian. Both couples did a wonderful job in the Dance-Off but the judges opted to save Bal and Jules, sending them through to Week 7.
Speaking of Week 7, the Results Show managed to reveal the vast majority of the routines we're going to see in next week's installment, while the official BBC Strictly account confirmed the rest. And we have some absolute classics!
Strictly's Week 7 routines feature songs from Taylor Swift, Gloria Estefan, and more
Strictly has confirmed which dances the couples will be performing this weekend, alongside the tracks that they will be grooving to. We have quite the interesting selection this week, with plenty of classics (including Diana Ross and Queen), as well Taylor Swift's newest chart-topper! We also have Strictly favorite "Samba" from Gloria Estefan back in the mix too!
- Amber and Nikita - Salsa to "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real" by Sylvester
- Alex and Johannes - Paso Doble to "Amparito Roca" by Jamie Texidor
- Balvinder and Julian - Couple's Choice to "Sapphire" by Ed Sheeran
- George and Alexis – Viennese Waltz to "Somebody To Love" by Queen
- Harry and Karen – Samba to "Samba" by Gloria Estefan
- Karen and Carlos – Charleston to "Upside Down" by Diana Ross
- La Voix and Aljaž - Foxtrot to "Make Your Own Kind Of Music" by Cass Elliot
- Lewis and Katya – Cha Cha to "I Like It Like That" by Pete Rodriguez
- Vicky and Kai – Tango to "The Fate of Ophelia" by Taylor Swift
Looking at this line-up, there are certainly some fun choices. Vicky and Kai's Tango to a Taylor Swift track released just over a month ago does suggest that there was some last-minute reshuffling done there to capitalize on Taylor's recent chart domination (as the songs and dances are reportedly decided months / weeks in advance) but we can't wait to see the pair take this one on as it's an absolute banger.
Meanwhile, George's fans will be happy to see that he finally has a classic song choice much more appropriate to the dance style he has been given. Viewers weren't particularly happy about the show's insistence on giving him and Alexis TikTok-friendly hits just because he's a social media influencer and, honestly, those routines in question have hindered his progress a little. We can't wait to see him take on the Viennese Waltz to a Queen classic, especially as ballroom is quickly becoming his strong-suit.
This will be Lewis and Katya's first Party Latin dance that involves hip rotation, so viewers will be eager to see how they do fresh-off their 40-scoring Couple's Choice this week. Speaking of Party Latin, Amber and Nikita often score highly with Latin routines, so we're eager to see how they do with their upcoming Salsa - especially after Amber previously received praise for her execution of lifts in her American Smooth and Argentine Tango.
Balvinder and Julian could have the show-stealer now that the pair have Couple's Choice. Between the beautiful Ed Sheeran song to the story of Balvinder's journey that they are undoubtedly going to tell, this could be a real moment - one that hopefully should keep the pair safe for another week.
Strictly Come Dancing's Week 7 show airs on BBC One on Saturday, November 8, at 6:25 pm GMT.
