Strictly Come Dancing put on its annual frightening festivities as the beloved entertainment series celebrated Halloween Week. And although theme weeks have been known to received a mixed response from fans (looking at you, Icons Week!), Strictly aced the spooky season with one of the highest-standards of dancing that Halloween Week has ever seen.
Lewis and Katya topped the Leaderboard with their death-defying Couples Choice that is sure to go down in Strictly history as the joint-highest 40 of the whole series (along with Rose and Giovanni's Tango in 2021), while Amber and Nikita's twist on Little Red Riding Hood with their Viennese Waltz closed the show on a high. Karen Carney and Carlos Gu produced the sharp footwork with their Argentine Tango, earning themselves their highest-score to date (including two 10s!), and Alex and Johannes produced one of the most unique Salsas Strictly has ever seen.
Yes, it was certainly a memorable Halloween Week, but who will make it through to the competition's next installment. To find that out, let's preview the Sunday Night Results Show, starting with the time you can expect it to air.
Strictly Week 6's Results Show has a familiar start time
The Strictly Come Dancing Halloween Week / Week 6 Results Show will air on BBC One on Sunday, November 2, at 7:15 pm GMT. As the clocks went back in the UK last weekend, it might feel a little earlier than usual, but the show will indeed be in its typical Sunday night slot as usual, arriving on screens immediately after Hamza's Hidden Wild Isles.
Although it may be the Halloween Special Results Show, tonight's episode will have the same runtime as a normal Results Show, lasting 45 minutes in length. The heavily-edited program will now leave the Bottom Two couples to the very end of the show (along with two other couples who are actually safe and not in the Dance-Off at all).
What to expect from Week 6's Results Show and Dance-Off?
Last week, we correctly predicted that Icons Week's Dance-Off would be the most interesting of the series. The Leaderboard carried far less value due to all of those ties, which meant that the public vote would carry far more weight as the tie-breakers. That is exactly what happened as two high-scoring couples - Amber and Nikita and Jimmy and Lauren - fell into the Dance-Off from second and fourth positions on the Leaderboard, respectively. It was a shocker that really highlighted that high scores don't always protect from the Dance-Off.
This week, there is a three-way tie pretty high up on the Leaderboard and Amber and Nikita are unfortunately involved in it again. That could put them back in jeopardy, but if their public vote holds up, it could carry them to safety. They did, after all, close the show with a very well-received Viennese Waltz that earned them high scores and placed them third on the Leaderboard. So it's probably best for all couples that they avoid the Dance-Off as they would be difficult to defeat.
Although the tie does switch things up, it won't play as much havoc with the Leaderboard as the multiple did last week. For that reason, we could also expect to see some of the lower-scording couples end up in the Dance-Off anyway. Honestly, it really is anyone's game at this stage of the competition.
In terms of what else we can expect from the Results Show, there will be a delightfully ghoulish group routine from the professional dancers to celebrate Halloween Week. Strictly hasn't announced a guest performer for Halloween Week, so we might not have a second performance this week. We'll have to wait and see.
