It's the most spooky time of the year, and that can only mean one thing: Strictly Come Dancing will be taking on its annual Halloween Special. As usual, it will come in the show's sixth week, but it's a little surprising this year as it will actually take place on Saturday November 1, a.k.a. the day after Halloween. Nevertheless, as there was a concern that Icons Week had replaced it, we're all just happy to know that the ghouls and the goblins of the spooky show will indeed return this year.
Perhaps the scariest moment of the whole series thus far came in last week's episode when it was revealed that Amber and Nikita and Jimmy and Lauren were in the Dance-Off, despite both couples scoring highly on the Leaderboard. We know that this show is familiar with surprise Dance-Offs but Week 5 is earlier than expected.
With Amber and Nikita surviving, they will be joining the rest of the couples in Halloween Week when the contestants take on some frightful classics. Now, Strictly has officially unveiled the songs and dances this week.
From Lady Gaga to Shakespears Sister, Strictly's Halloween Week songs and dances bring the frights
Strictly has officially unveiled the line-up of songs and dances that viewers can expect from the BBC program's Halloween Spooktacular, and we have some bangers! There are some unexpected choices there to say the least, too, but we can't deny that we will be ready for the fun.
Check out the list of songs and dances for Strictly's Halloween Week below:
- Alex and Johannes – Salsa to "Horny" by Mousse T. and Hot 'n' Juicy
- Amber and Nikita – Viennese Waltz to "I See Red" by Everybody Loves An Outlaw
- Balvinder and Julian – Rumba to "Stay" by Shakespears Sister
- Ellie and Vito – Tango to "Abracadabra" by Lady Gaga
- George and Alexis – Cha Cha to "Apple" by Charlie XCX
- Harry and Karen – American Smooth to "Mystical Magical" by Benson Boone
- Karen and Carlos – Argentine Tango to "Red Right Hand" by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds
- La Voix and Aljaž – Paso Doble to "The 5th" by Beethoven
- Lewis and Katya – Couple's Choice to "Creep" by Radiohead
- Vicky and Kai – American Smooth to "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler
Having correctly predicted earlier this year that "Abaracadabra" by Lady Gaga would be used for a Tango this year, I'm so glad to see it listed there. Ellie and Vito will be performing the dance and it was previously revealed that there will be a magician and rabbit theme to it.
We can't wait to see the thrills and chills that Halloween Week will bring to the Ballroom. And after last week's surprise Dance-Off, it's clear that the competition is getting scarier than ever. Here's to everyone putting their best foot forward and enjoying the fun in what is shaping up to be an unforgettable night of dancing.
Strictly Come Dancing's Halloween Special airs on BBC One on Saturday, November 1, at 6:35 pm GMT.
