What time are the Strictly results on tonight? Week 9 send-off preview, runtime, and more

Even though we don't have an elimination on the Strictly Come Dancing Results Show, there will be some more surprises in store in tonight's episode.

It's been a big weekend for Strictly Come Dancing. The beloved BBC One series returned to Blackpool as this year's crop of contestants all offered up their very best for the Tower Ballroom's iconic dancefloor. That being said, they were one couple down as La Voix and Aljaž were forced to pull out of the competition due to the former sustaining an injury during training. It was hoped a one-week bye would give them the chance to bounce back, but unfortunately it wasn't to be.

The revelation also came with the announcement that there would be no elimination at Blackpool, as the judges scores and the public votes would be carried forward into next week instead. It allowed the couples to offer their very best while also being able to enjoy the evening without any fear of elimination. However, as Tess and Claudia reiterated on the show, the fact remains that there will still be a Results Show.

With that in mind, here's what you can expect from it.

Is Strictly on tonight (and what time does it start)?

First thing's first: Yes, Strictly Come Dancing will still air a brand new episode tonight as the Results Show will continue on, even without a Dance-Off. The episode will air in its usual, planned timeslot of Sunday, November 23, at 7:15 pm GMT, arriving after the next episode Kingdom.

The episode will have its typical runtime of 45 minutes, so it goes without saying that it's going to be interesting to see how they fill the time without both the results announcements and the Dance-Off itself. As it's pre-recorded, it won't run overtime, but filling out the segments is going to be interesting, and as a result of that, we're probably going to see longer Judges breakdowns of each of the routines.

Everything you can expect from Week 9's Results Show (without the Dance-Off)

Strictly's Week 9 Results Show is going to be one of the most unique in history. We have seen this once before (in 2023) when it was revealed that Nigel Harmon had to pull out of the competition, resulting in the rest of the couples automatically going through to next week. That does, however, mean that the Results Show will need padded out with more content.

For starters, we have an awesome performance from Lewis Capaldi to look forward to, as well as a planned group routine from the professional dancers, which will also include Strictly returnees Ashley Roberts, Layton Williams, Jay McGuinness, and Danny Mac. Layton will also get to reunite with his dance partner Nikita (who is currently dancing with Amber Davies this year).

The Judges corner chats in the Clauditorium will probably last a little longer, as will Claudia Winkleman's chats with all of the safe couples. We can't wait to see how they discuss their dances this week and previews what's to come from their routines next week.

The big main event of it all will be a send-off for La Voix and Aljaž, who are in attendance. The pair were supposed to perform a Samba to "Love is in the Air" and even though they won't be able to do that, we're excited to see how the show gives them an appropriately larger-than-life, campy send-off. We'll certainly miss seeing them light up the ballroom, but we can't wait to see them do it one more time!
