We've made it: Strictly Come Dancing has arrived in Blackpool, bringing the glitz and glamor of one of TV's most iconic shows to the legendary Tower Ballroom, meaning that we are all in for one heck of an entertaining night full of awesome routines! We wouldn't expect anything less from Strictly and that's what the show has once again promised us this year.
It hasn't been the smoothest journey for the popular dancing program as this year's series has seen a number of couples taken out for a week at a time due to injuries or sickness (and one unfortunately having to pull out altogether) and it also featured a shock Dance-Off last week in which a fan-favorite couple were eliminated.
But the show has indeed arrived at Blackpool this year, with six the Top 7 performing competitors taking to the legendary sprung floor of the Tower Ballroom dancefloor. Whose moment is it to shine? Let's find out, as here are all the Strictly spoilers you need, including the results and scores from the Week 9 Saturday Night Blackpool Special show.
La Voix confirms exit from competition as Tess and Claudia 'spoil' Results Show send-off
La Voix and Aljaž have unfortunately been forced to pull out of the competition. Tess and Claudia revealed in the opening of the show that, even though La Voix had pulled out of the competition this weekend and been given a one-week bye, they have since learned that she will have to withdraw from Strictly altogether. Unfortunately, that meant that La Voix and Aljaž's Strictly journey had come to a premature end.
Tess and Claudia then revealed that the Results Show would be devoted to giving La Voix a proper Blackpool send-off. As a result of that "spoiler', no other couple will be going home this weekend and there will be no Dance-Off. The scores and votes from this weekend will then be carried over to next week's episode instead.
Strictly spoilers and results: Your Week 9 Leaderboard and all of the scores
Well the Blackpool Special of Strictly wasn't playing around. Although La Voix and Aljaž weren't able to compete, the rest of the contestants left it all on the dancefloor to ensure that the Tower Ballroom - and all of the audience in attendance - knew that it had just witnessed some historic routines.
Balvinder and Julian came back fighting with their sizzling Argentine Tango, Amber and Nikita brought the feelgood feeling with their Quickstep, and Alex and Johannes brought the house down with their Couples Choice. Meanwhile, Karen and Carlos brought the intensity with their Paso Doble, George and Alexis brought the party with their Salsa, and Lewis and Katya brought the energy with their Charleston.
Yes, it really was quite the night, and it left things in a very interesting place for the voters. With all of that in mind, here are the results from the Strictly Week 9 show. the scores that each of the dances were given by the judges, and the Leaderboard that remained at the end of the Blackpool episode:
- Lewis and Katya danced the Charleston - 10, 10, 10, 10 = 40
- Karen and Carlos danced the Paso Doble - 9, 10, 10, 10 = 39
- George and Alexis danced the Salsa - 9, 10, 10, 10 = 39
- Amber and Nikita danced the Quickstep - 9, 9, 9, 9 = 36
- Alex and Johannes danced their Couples Choice - 8, 9, 9, 9 = 35
- Balvinder and Julian danced the Argentine Tango - 8, 8, 8, 9 = 32
On a night of high scores, these incredible results will be carried through to next week. That's good news for the couples as they all have high scores to build upon. There is currently just one tie on the Leaderboard, but with a lot to play for next week and a host of new dances to look forward, the Leaderboard could look very, very different next week.
All that being said, we'll certainly miss seeing La Voix and Aljaž light up the dancefloor with their captivating routines.
