We're in the middle of Perfect Match season 4 on Netflix, and things are finally starting to heat up after the five-episode release on Wednesday, May 13. As I watched the first five episodes, one question kept popping up: Are any of these couples actually going to last?
Well, if history is any indication, the answer is basically no.
We've seen three seasons of Perfect Match on Netflix so far. We've seen about 60 contestants hit the beach and villa to try to make a connection and find love. While several couples have left the show together and dating, there are almost no couples from Perfect Match who are still together. There is one exception, though, and they're a couple from Perfect Match season 3.

Ollie Sutherland and AD Smith are the only Perfect Match couple who are still together
Ollie Sutherland of Love is Blind UK and AD Smith of Love is Blind season 6 connected and coupled up on Perfect Match season 3, and they are the only couple from this show that is still together!
The couple also got married after their time on the new season of the Netflix reality series and announced the news on Instagram last year.
I believe that they are the only Perfect Match couple who have a child together, as well, but I can't confirm that is true. Ollie and AD also welcomed a baby girl together earlier this year.
Fans also got to catch up a little bit with AD earlier this year during the Love is Blind season 10 reunion. AD was an on-air correspondent helping out Nick and Vanessa Lachey during the episode.
Why Perfect Match struggles as a format for getting couples together
There's no doubt Netflix's other reality shows, like Love is Blind or even Age of Attraction, are set up for success in helping couples get together. It's not surprising to me that this show struggles to get and keep people together because they are couples from all over the country (and world).
It's worth noting that Ollie is from England while AD is from the US, so the long-distance thing worked out well for them in the end.
The show also encourages chaos by bringing in contestants meant to split other couples up. That's challenging.
It also has a much shorter production window, so these couples aren't actually together for that long before the finale and filming ending.
There's definitely something to Perfect Match as a format, but Netflix needs to make some changes if it really wants to help couples get and stay together.
We'll see if more Perfect Match season 4 couples stay together after filming when the next season comes to an end on Wednesday, May 27.
