There aren't many Love is Blind couples who are still together, and now, another one of the original fan-favorite Love is Blind couples is splitting up.
Chelsea Griffin and Kwame Appiah recently announced they would be getting divorced after four years of marriage. The Love is Blind stars posted a joint update on their marriage coming to an end on Instagram.
"It's heartbreaking to share that our marriage is coming to an end," Chelsea said in the statement. "This is not the outcome I hoped for, and I entered this relationship with deep love, commitment, and the intention of building a lasting life together."
"As difficult as it's been to arrive here, I believe it's in our best interest considering, amongst many other things, that our ultimate life goals don't feel aligned," Kwame said in his statement.
The couple just shot down rumors that their relationship was coming to an end recently, but it turns out those rumors were true after all.
For those who don't recall, Chelsea and Kwame starred on Love is Blind season 4, which was set in Seattle. After connecting in the pods, the couple had an interesting up-and-down relationship the rest of the show as they struggled with Kwame's life in Portland and Chelsea's life in Seattle. The couple got married during the season, and they've been together ever since.
The couple is one of three couples from Love is Blind season 4 who actually got married during the season, along with Zach Goytowski and Bliss Poureetezadi and Tiffany Pennywell and Brett Brown. Those two couples are, in fact, still together.
Overall, Love is Blind season 4 is one of the most impressive and successful seasons in the show's history. It ended with three weddings and three couples who stayed together for a long time. Of course, I don't mean to suggest that relationships that end are not successful or that they are failures or anything like that. It's just notable that this season, more than any of the others, had couples stay together for a lot longer than the norm for this show.
Right now, we're in the middle of a Love is Blind break after season 10 ended this spring. Netflix revealed Love is Blind season 11 will premiere this fall. Netflix also revealed the new location, and this season will will be set in Boston.
