We’ll soon be heading back to Chicago this fall for the new seasons of the hit NBC procedural series Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD, and while there’s plenty to be excited for with the new seasons, longtime fans will absolutely adore the latest news about the franchise. As with many TV shows these days, One Chicago is getting a companion podcast!
Wolf Entertainment, USG Audio, and NBC revealed on Sept. 10 that the One Chicago Podcast makes its premiere on Thursday, Sept. 18 wherever you listen to your podcasts, including Spotify and Apple. The new companion series will have audio episodes and video versions for select episodes that will be available to watch on the One Chicago YouTube channel.
The One Chicago Podcast will be hosted by Brian Luce, who’s a former Chicago police officer who has worked on Chicago PD as a technical consultant and producer. Luce will speak with cast, showrunners, and crew members from each of the series, including Chicago PD’s Jason Beghe and Chicago Fire’s David Eigenberg among others.

One Chicago companion podcast launching in September 2025
According to the podcast’s press release, the One Chicago Podcast will contain 28 episodes that will be released weekly, beginning with two episodes released on the Sept. 18 premiere day. Given the podcast’s episode count, the series will likely see the shows through their upcoming seasons that will air between October 2025 and May 2026.
While the fans all love to read about the aftermath of what happens in the latest episodes in interviews from the showrunner and cast members, it’s different getting to hear (and watch!) in-depth conversations about all the shows. The podcast has the opportunity to provide fans with perspectives, stories, and conversations that haven’t been had before.
Apart from touching on behind the scenes details we’ll have exclusive access to, the podcast pulls back the curtain a little more. As the official synopsis teases, “The official One Chicago Podcast will reveal exclusive perspectives and share personal stories, highlighting the tight-knit culture that has flourished on set in the Windy City where the shows are filmed.”
In recent years, there has been a rise in popular podcasts going back in time with cast members reuniting to rewatch their nostalgic hit shows and reflecting on their experiences with fans. Even more recently, companion podcasts have been a way for networks and streamers to further connect fans with their favorite shows. Hulu just launched one for Only Murders in the Building.
This will be the first time that Wolf Entertainment and NBC have expanded the One Chicago media franchise beyond the spinoff series to include a companion podcast and further enhance the viewing experience for longtime fans. There’s no doubt that we should all be tuning into the podcast on Thursdays after One Chicago Wednesdays on NBC!
