For the first time since the competition series began in 2019, The Masked Singer season 14 won't be on our screens until January 2026. Plus, there's an original cast member who has a new gig. But don't worry. This won't effect his job on the upcoming new season of the Fox show.

The Masked Singer host Nick Cannon will also be tackling the same duties in Lego Masters season 6, which premieres sometime in the 2025-2026 lineup for Fox. He's taking over for Will Arnett, who has been host on his series since the start. Though that will now change as he has some scheduling conflicts and couldn't commit to the competitive building block show this time around. That's where Cannon comes in.

However even though Cannon is going to be hosting another Fox reality competition series, that doesn't mean he's leaving The Masked Singer and he has been confirmed to return in season 14. It looks like his schedule is free to do both, which is great news for us viewers who have gotten used to having him lead us through the episodes. The good thing about these sorts of programs is that they can be filmed pretty quickly and easily.

For the first time, the costume-filled series will not be airing twice a year. Usually, us fans get one season debuting in the fall, and one early in a new year. Though this time the show is skipping a fall season. This doesn't seem to have to do with Cannon's schedule and commitment to Lego Masters, though.

This is more due to production wanting more time to focus on looking at how they can creatively make the show better. The cast and crew has very quick turnaround times with two seasons a year. So this will give them a bit of a break, and hopefully have more time to come up with even better ideas. The extra time could also give producers time to accommodate more or higher-profile celebrities to come on and sing.

In addition to Cannon, the current permanent panelists are Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Nichole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke. They've all done such a great job in their roles and bring fun energy to the unique singing competition. So it's definitely a relief heading into the new season, and new year, that all the original cast members will return to The Masked Singer season 14.

The Masked Singer season 14 premieres in January 2026 on Fox.
