We might not see The Traitors season 5 arrive until 2027, but fans looking to enjoy murder and betrayal via Peacock’s Emmy-winning franchise are in luck!
It turns out that The Traitors UK season 4 was quietly added to Peacock the night The Traitors US season 4 finale and season 4 reunion dropped. Amid the excitement of the season 4 finale, the release of the latest season of The Traitors UK flew right under the radar, with many fans not realizing the season had been dropped.
The fourth season of The Traitors UK debuted in early January, with the episodes rolling out across the month, leading to the season 4 finale on January 23. While the season wrapped as January came to a close, Peacock kept with the tradition of holding off on adding the newest season of The Traitors UK until after The Traitors US wrapped its run.
While it would be great to follow along with The Traitors UK as it unfolds, especially when helping to avoid spoilers, the release strategy makes perfect sense. Rather than burning through both new seasons of The Traitors series, Peacock is able to keep fans hooked on the US edition over the course of roughly 11 weeks. Once the US season wraps, fans are then able to head right back to the turret to join the Traitors for more scheming and murdering via a new season of The Traitors UK.
The only problem with this release strategy is that it makes it incredibly easy to burn through the new seasons of The Traitors UK when they hit Peacock. The Traitors is one of those shows that perfectly tees up episode-ending cliffhangers that always have us going, “Okay, I’ll just watch one more episode,” only to find one episode turning into two, and then before you know it, you’ve binged half the season or more in one sitting.
Thankfully, The Traitors UK season 4 is not the last of The Traitors franchise we’ll be getting this year.
NBC will be bringing viewers a civilian edition of the hit series sometime this year. Filming is slated to begin in early summer, hinting that we’ll likely see The Traitors spinoff dropping as part of NBC’s fall schedule. This would be a perfect release window, as the season could then lead directly into the fifth season of Peacock’s celebrity edition, which tends to kick off the new year with an early January premiere every season.
It’s also possible that the fall will bring another season of The Celebrity Traitors as a second season of The Traitors UK spinoff is in development. The first season landed on Peacock in November 2025 following the season’s conclusion in the UK, and we imagine Peacock will take a similar approach with season 2.
