Calling all Law & Order fans! We have some really good news to share. This fall, a brand-new addition to the iconic franchise is finally making its way to U.S. screens. It's titled Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, and it's set to premiere this September.

But there's a twist! Unlike its predecessors, this spinoff won’t air on NBC. Instead, it will premiere on The CW, bringing its Canadian crime stories and compelling new detectives to American audiences for the first time. The exact premiere date and time are Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. CT. After it airs on TV, episodes will also be available to stream on The CW App the next day.

Those up north have already had the chance to see this show, with Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent season 1 premiering on Citytv in February 2024 and ending its run in May 2024. A second season recently finished airing on Citytv back in May 2025. Now, the police procedural series is heading stateside. While season 1 will premiere on The CW in September, season 2 is confirmed to start airing on the network sometime in 2026.

Based on Dick Wolf's Law & Order: Criminal Intent, the Canadian spinoff comes from Tassie Cameron. She serves as showrunner and executive producer of the series. Cameron is best known for co-creating the shows Pretty Hard Cases and Rookie Blue. In this Law & Order spinoff, the story takes place in Toronto, Canada. We follow Detective Sergeants Henry Graff and Frankie Bateman of the Specialized Criminal Investigations Unit as they investigate high-profile homicides across the city.

Canadian actors Aden Young and Kathleen Munroe star in the leading roles as Henry Graff and Frankie Bateman, respectively. You might recognize Young from his previous roles in shows such as The Starter Wife, Rectify and Wellmania. On the other hand, Munroe is known for having roles in the shows Beautiful People, CSI: NY, Resurrection, FBI and City on Fire.

The cast is also made up of K. C. Collins, Karen Robinson, Nicola Correia-Damude, Araya Mengesha, Tammy Isbell, and many others. Both seasons 1 and 2 consist of 10 episodes each, so there's plenty to look forward to.

While waiting for Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent to premiere on The CW, we recommend watching some of the other shows in the Law & Order franchise in the meantime. We listed the shows and shared where you can currently stream them below.
