While all the major networks have already unveiled their fall 2025 lineups, The CW has yet to do so. However, the network has just announced plans to release a series of original TV movies starring some of its most beloved actors for the fall season. These upcoming movies are all inspired by popular Harlequin romance novels. Anyone who has ever read a Harlequin novel knows that they are known for their romantic, heartfelt stories.
According to TVLine, there are about six TV movies in this slate, though the full details haven't been revealed yet. Some notable actors starring in these movies include Danielle Panabaker (known from The Flash), Katherine McNamara (Arrow, Walker Independence), and Amber Riley (Glee).
The first movie to premiere is called Montana Mavericks, starring McNamara. It will get a limited run in theaters on the weekend of Aug. 26 before it airs on The CW in the fall. The story revolves around a bestselling author struggling to overcome writer’s block, who ends up inheriting a ranch in Montana. Also in the cast are Dennis Andres (Workin’ Moms), Linda Kee (Black Summer), and Kaya Coleman (Beyond Black Beauty).
Other movies in the lineup include:
- Second Guessing Fate — Panabaker stars as an event planner who’s sworn off dating, until a fortune teller predicts she is “one last horrible date away from true love.” The film also features Corey Sevier (Cedar Cove), Brendan Morgan (The Big Cigar), Jocelyn Chugg, and Ari Rombough.
- Savvy Sheldon Feels Good as Hell — Riley plays Savvy Sheldon, dealing with a stressful job, a stalled relationship, and inheriting her grandma’s kitchen. The film also stars Dorian Grey (Transplant), Nadine Whiteman (SkyMed), and Malaika Hennie-Hamadi (The Handmaid’s Tale).
- Paws in the City — Emeraude Toubia (Shadowhunters) stars as a social media expert whose career struggles lead her to care for a demanding dachshund. Carter Jenkins, known for Famous in Love, is also in the cast.
- Ordinary Girl in a Tiara — Katharine King So (Transplant) plays a vintage fashion fan who ends up living with her childhood nemesis, a couture heiress played by Kathryn Gallagher (You), sparking an unexpected romance.
- Recipe for Romance — Two business rivals in Little Manila go from enemies to unexpected lovers, starring True O’Brien (Days of Our Lives) and Alex Mallari Jr. (Ginny & Georgia).
