Netflix's most underrated reality show is back with a new season in April 2026, and it's perfect for fans of The Traitors.
Million Dollar Secret premiered on Netflix on March 26, 2025, and at the time, it was a sneaky hit for Netflix. There are eight episodes in the first season, and they're available to stream on Netflix right now.
So far, Netflix's slate of reality shows has been dominated by the dating shows, like Love is Blind, Perfect Match, Temptation Island, and more, but Million Dollar Secret is, by far, the best of the reality competition shows that Netflix has to offer.
With Million Dollar Secret season 2's premiere on April 15, it's time for everyone, especially fans of The Traitors, to catch up!
Why fans of The Traitors will love Million Dollar Secret
Well, this is easy! Million Dollar Secret and The Traitors are just so similar in vibe, premise, and host. The Netflix show feels like an episode of The Traitors with a little bit of a twist.
So, for the premise, Million Dollar Secret brings a group of a dozen or so contestants to a mansion where one of them will become a millionaire. Literally, they each have a box in their room, and in one player's box, there is $1 million in cash. Each episode, the other players come together and vote out a player they believe has the $1 million in their box. If they are correct, the cash moves to another player. And, the goal is to be the last player standing with $1 million in their box.
The twist, which is similar to The Traitors, is that the person who is the Millionaire must try to sabotage the other players in challenges and complete "Agendas" to win advantages, like the ability to move the money to a different person or order a "kill shot," which sends the person they want home.
The other players complete challenges to win clues about the Millionaire and share them with the group.
There's also a very charismatic, weird host in Peter Serafinowicz, who keeps the players on their toes throughout the game.
There are some key differences in The Traitors vs. Million Dollar Secret, but there's enough intrigue, suspense, and mystery to keep fans entertained throughout. You don't get as many players working together like you do in The Traitors, but it's still very entertaining.
Million Dollar Secret, because there is only one season, is still finding its strategic legs. The way the players played season 1 will likely go up another level in season 2 and again in season 3 and beyond, assuming Netflix renews it for another season.
Million Dollar Secret season 2 will be released in episode batches starting on Wednesday, April 15. New episodes will follow on April 22 and April 29.
