With the Winter Olympics almost upon us, eyes are on how many episodes of our favorite scripted shows we have left. In some great news, the Brilliant Minds season 2 break isn’t as early as we feared, but that break is coming.
When NBC revealed its January 2026 plans, we knew that at some point a break was coming. After all, NBC made it clear that the first episode back after the Winter Olympics would be on Monday, March 2. What we didn’t know was how many episodes we would get before the Winter Olympics began.
Brilliant Minds has two more episodes before the Winter Olympics
In some good news, Brilliant Minds will run into February as much as it can. There are two more episodes left to air, with them slated to air on Monday, Jan. 26 and Monday, Feb. 2. That will mark the date of the break for the Winter Olympics.
This is more episodes than we initially believed. We had feared that the shows would go off the air in January, with NBC getting ready for the Winter Olympics coverage at the start of February. After all, while the Opening Ceremony airs on Friday, Feb. 6, there will be some Games that start on Wednesday, Feb. 4, and there is sure to be some pre-Game coverage to air.
It’s great news considering we just had a night off from new episodes. NBC took the night of Martin Luther King Jr. Day off, and it would have felt off having one more episode and then another break. That wouldn’t have been good for the consistency of episodes!
What to expect on the next two episodes of Brilliant Minds
On Brilliant Minds season 2 episode 13, the doctors of Bronx General will need to pull together to help a college student with an unusual condition. It brings a whole new medical prognosis that is connected to today’s world of technology, and not only does Dr. Wolf need to get comfortable with said technology, but he also gets to learn all about sorority life.
We’ll also get to see more of Dr. Thorne, as he treats a patient who collapses under mysterious circumstances. It’s the first real time we’ve seen Thorne since the Brilliant Minds season 2 fall finale, when Carol found out that he was dating someone else from the hospital.
The episode after that will see some sort of grisly accident that puts everyone at the hospital at risk. However, it all leads to a shocking revelation about Dr. Wolf. Is this something to do with his new friend, Sofia?
Brilliant Minds will air over the next two months and then go on a break after the Monday, Feb. 2 episode on NBC.
