In a competitive comedy pilot season, NBC has made its choices clear by opting to greenlight two new series while passing on another that centers around a Native American community center.
The first NBC comedy pilot to be greenlit was The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins. Back in May 2025, it was announced that the network had given a series order to the single-camera comedy pilot. Tracy Morgan, Daniel Radcliffe, Erika Alexander, Bobby Moynihan, Precious Way, and Jalyn Hall are set to star with Tina Fey signed on as an executive producer.
The show's first season is rumored to consist of 10 episodes. Morgan will play a former football player who has experienced a fall from grace. The series will focus on his efforts to improve or fix how people see him and rebuild his public image. An official premiere date has not been announced yet, but the show is expected to start airing sometime later this year.
The second comedy pilot to score a series pickup was Stumble in July 2025. According to Deadline, the single-camera cheerleading pilot did very well during internal reviews and test screenings at the network. Because of that strong response, Stumble was set up to be picked up as a full series. NBC hasn’t yet revealed when exactly this comedy show will air. However, Deadline reports that there's a chance it could air in November of this year, filling one of the remaining half-hour slots on the fall schedule. We'll just have to wait and see what the network decides.
Written by Liz and Jeff Astrof, Stumble follows Courteney Potter, who is on a mission to lead her newly formed junior college cheerleading team to victory in what would be her 15th championship, while also striving to uplift and transform her team’s lives in the process. Jenn Lyon stars in the leading role as Courteney. Also in the cast are Taran Killam, Ryan Pinkston, Jarrett Austin Brown, Anissa Borrego, Arianna Davis, Taylor Dunbar, and Georgie Murphy. Emmy Award-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth will recur throughout the series.
Unfortunately, the one comedy pilot that NBC decided not to move forward with as a series is an untitled project from Sierra Teller Ornelas, Jackie Keliiaa, and Bobby Wilson. The show centers on the staff at a Native American community center in Oakland, California, working hard to support their community. As reported by Deadline, it didn’t generate as much internal excitement in testing or screenings compared to the other two pilots. Therefore, NBC ultimately passed on it.
