Grosse Pointe Garden Society is probably the closest we've come to reclaiming the darkly comedic and soapy glory of Desperate Housewives. The newer NBC drama is full of fun character dynamics and it has an exceptional cast clearly game to go along with its many twists and turns. So, it's not a surprise that fans are pleading with the network to bring it back.

It's not just viewers that want to see more of the garden club's scandalous antics either, as the show's creators and stars have spoken out about their desire to continue the story. Most recently, Ben Rappaport, who plays recently divorced single dad Brett, has shared how much he'd like to return and continue expanding on his character's growth and storyline.

Speaking with The Independent, Rappaport said he and the other cast members "really want to bring you more thrills in a season two!"

It's unfortunate that NBC hasn't renewed the show just yet, and now it is too late for it to claim a spot in the 2025-26 lineup between the other renewed series and the addition of the NBA basketball games to be broadcast starting this fall. But there is hope that Grosse Pointe Garden Society could find new life on the NBCUniversal streamer Peacock.

Rappaport points out that the series works as a great summer binge thanks to its "emotional roller coaster ride" and the compelling mystery at the center of the series.

Since the NBC show debuted in February 2025, it has drawn favorable comparisons to Desperate Housewives, which begins with a group of four housewives living on the fabled Wisteria Lane, a place clouded with dark secrets and mysteries. There is definitely a similar strand of energy between the two series, and the two shows actually share a surprising connection.

Grosse Pointe Garden Society showrunner Jenna Bans was previously a writer on Desperate Housewives and Rappaport says being compared to the ABC drama is "a real honor because that show was so beloved and balanced light and dark tones brilliantly."

As GeekSided previously reported, Grosse Point Garden Society co-creator Bill Krebs is encouraging fans to revisit the show even if they have watched it already. He says NBC is paying attention to the Peacock viewership numbers in addition to the ratings for linear reruns throughout the summer.

In short, if you want to help improve the chances of the series getting picked up for a second season on streaming, then you best bet is to watch it and rewatch it on Peacock, even if you're just letting it run in the background.

Rappaport echoed Krebs' sentiments, adding that the show is well worth rewatching because you'll probably catch small details and hidden foreshadowing that you missed out on the first time around.

Apart from Rappaport, the series also stars Melissa Fumero, AnnaSophia Robb, Aja Naomi King, Matthew David, Alexander Hodge, and Nancy Travis. All 13 episodes of season 1 are now on Peacock, so it's time to start watching!
