All eyes are on the Grey’s Anatomy season 22 premiere, and we’re certainly concerned about the fate of the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial. Throughout the summer, it’s been clear that we may lose one doctor permanently from the hospital, and not in the way we’d like.
A new promotional spot for the Grey’s Anatomy season 22 premiere is out, and it only concerns us more. As Catherine Fox asks if there are any fatalities, it’s clear from her voice that we should expect at least one.
Personally, I’m not sure if it’s going to be the doctor we all think it is. Of course, the promo wants us to believe it is, but there’s something about pushing this potential death so hard that suggests it’s a huge red herring.
Link isn’t answering his phone in the Grey’s Anatomy season 22 promo
The promo puts all the hints on Link being the one to die. One of the first things we see is Jo telling someone that Link isn’t answering his phone.
Now, let’s be honest. The man was in the OR at the time of the explosion, and while they can answer their phones, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going to unless they believe there’s an emergency on the other end of it. Jo would know that, so she probably wouldn’t panic at first.
The problem is that the OR Link was in during the Grey’s Anatomy season 21 finale was close to the OR where the explosion took place. And this is what puts him in direct danger. Out of everyone in the hospital, he is the most likely one to die.
Yet, his not answering his phone doesn’t mean that he’s dead. He could just be in surgery, or the phone could be buried under a pile of rubble somewhere!
Amelia crying and Winston with tears in his eyes continues to hint that it’s Link, and I just think that the promo is pushing this way too hard. Just look at it and tell me that they’re not pushing it too hard:
Ben Warren needs to save his wife
Also in the Grey’s Anatomy season 22 promo, we see Ben rushing into the hospital. Now, this is a man who has always run toward danger. It’s why he decided to become a firefighter!
He’s not doing it to save strangers, though. Ben is worried about his wife, and he needs to make sure that she’s okay. He knows what it can be like to get answers, so he wants to check by himself.
What he doesn’t realize is that he has every reason to worry about Bailey. She was on her way to the OR floor at the time of the explosion. There is a chance that she’s trapped there, but Ben is going to have to rely on the firefighters of Seattle to do the job he once did.
Could it be that Bailey is the one who will die in the Grey’s Anatomy season 22 premiere? I wouldn’t think so, considering the soul she is to the hospital and the show, but you never know. With how hard the promo is pushing Link, I suspect that this death is going to be someone we don’t see coming, and I do fear that it could mean Bailey.
It better not be Bailey!
