Ghosts star warns season 4 finale will make fans a ‘little mad’

The Ghosts season 4 finale is make us need another episode after it.
“Pinkus Returns” – When Trevor’s former co-worker, Pinkus (Richie Keen), and his daughter, Abby (Gideon Adlon), show up at Woodstone Mansion, Trevor gets the surprise of his afterlife, on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, April 17 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Ghosts is absolutely no stranger to cliffhanger finales. It looks like the Ghosts season 4 finale will have something similar, and we’ll be left “a little mad.”

The Ghosts season 4 finale will air on Thursday, May 8, and it’s set to feature the return of three characters. One of those pops up now and then to help Sam and Jay with the B&B and restaurant, Bela. The other two are ghostly characters, and one of those has a bit of an evil plan.

In fact, I have to wonder if the tease for the finale is linked to that evil character, Elias Woodstone. The last we saw of him, he was after a soul to take to Hell.

The Devil Went Down to Woodstone
“The Devil Went Down to Woodstone” – Sam and Jay host a big party for the launch of Sam and Isaac’s vampire book, on the fourth season finale of CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, May 8 (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Mary Holland (Patience), Punam Patel (Bela) and Matt Walsh (Elias Woodstone) return

In a TVLine Inside Line tease, Asher Grodman, who plays Trevor in the series, shared that fans will be “a little mad.” It’s not exactly at the storyline, though. I get the sense that this isn’t something like how 911 fans are mad at the most recent character death.

Instead, it’s because of the lack of new episode afterward. It sounds like there’s going to be a huge cliffhanger, that while not like previous ones that leave us on the edges of our seats, it’s still a big one. We’ll have to wait all summer to get some answers.

“I don’t think it’s going to be as agonizing as others have been, but I think it is going to make you be just a little mad at us that we don’t have another episode right afterwards.”

This could be linked to Elias, who wants a soul. He nearly had Jay’s soul, but Jay decided against the deal in the end. Is it possible that Elias will return and manage to trick Jay after all?

We also know that Patience is back, which could link to Elias’ arc. Is it possible that she decides that everyone deserves a trip to Hell and teams up with Elias in a way? After all, she’s a Puritan, and she believes that everything we do now is a sin!

I’m not sure how this cliffhanger could be any more excruciating than waiting to find out which ghost was “sucked off” at the end of season 2, but I guess we’ll see.

The good news is that there will be an episode after the Ghosts season 4 finale. We’ll just have to wait for the start of a new season. CBS has renewed the comedy series for two more seasons, and it doesn’t mean the story will end there!

We’re expecting the fifth season to arrive in fall 2025. There’s no reason to take this comedy out of the fall schedule considering it is the most popular on the network. So, we could be waiting until the end of September or the start of October for answers to whatever the cliffhanger will be.

Ghosts airs on Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.
