We may have to wait until February for Ghosts season 5 to return, but there are some teases of what to expect when it happens. One of those teases is that we’ll see more of two of our favorite alive characters.

There is also a tease of a character potentially returning. At least, if we don’t get a return, we will get to find out what happened to this character when they didn’t show up as promised. Ghosts season 5’s winter premiere is already getting exciting.

Joe Wiseman and Joe Port chatted with TVLine about the things to come when the show returns. One of those was the return of a couple of faces.

There will be more of Jay’s sister, Bela. Punam Patel fits so well with the cast, and the character of Bela is an excellent way to center Jay. She is someone who knows all about Sam’s ability to see the ghosts, but she’s also like Jay and can’t see them herself. They have something in common, and they can relate to each other when Sam starts to have conversations without them knowing the other side of that conversation.

On top of that, she knows about Sam’s ability, making her useful to Sam. We saw earlier on Ghosts season 5 that Sam would stand next to Bela to have a conversation with a spirit, because then it would look like the two of them were conversing in the eyes of everyone else.

"She fits in so well. She helps center Jay in the stories. She's very useful, character-wise, because she's one of the few people that they've told about the ghosts and Sam's ability to see them."

The other human character to return will be Kyle, played by Ben Feldman. He returned during the Thanksgiving episode, as the spirits weren’t getting their needs met when Sam went on a road trip. As he can see the ghosts, he’s able to ask them about what they need.

However, he won’t be back too much. So far, he’s going to be back for “an episode,” but maybe there’s a chance we’ll see more of him in the future.

"Kyle, the other human — that we know of — who can see ghosts is going to come back for an episode."

His Girl Shiki
“His Girl Shiki” – Pete makes good on his promise to find someone for Sasappis by bringing in a wisecracking 1940s screenwriter who also has the ability to roam, on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, April 3 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. There is a spirit that we’re all wondering about. Sass feels a little abandoned and lost at the moment. He and Joan agreed to meet up on a certain date, but she didn’t show. Of course, he feels like she’s decided to find someone else, but is that the case?

The Joes know that her disappearance needs to be explained. Plus, there may be a chance to find out just how Sass died, but that’s still up for debate.

Ghosts season 5 returns on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.
