Fox has a unique schedule this season. Unlike ABC, CBS, and NBC whose lineups include a healthy mix of dramas, comedies, and reality shows, Fox’s fall schedule is occupied by mostly unscripted series with only two scripted dramas airing as part of the fall lineup and 4 comedies in its Sunday night animated block.
Holding down the fort this fall for scripted fans on the drama front has been the incredible duo of second-year dramas Doc and Murder in a Small Town. Both shows kicked off their second seasons in late September and have been captivating fans every Tuesday night since.
Unfortunately, the two shows are both getting pulled from the lineup on October 28, with no new episodes of either show scheduled to air in primetime. It’s a move that is sure to surprise to fans who have been enjoying new episodes uninterrupted for the last several weeks, but it’s one that is a result of Fox being home to the World Series.
With the World Series currently unfolding, Fox has turned over its primetime lineup to coverage of the MLB’s championship showdown between the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers. The Blue Jays and Dodgers will face off on October 28 in Game 4, which will bump both Doc and Murder in a Small Town from the schedule with no new episodes airing.

Doc and Murder in a Small Town will return after the World Series
The good news is that while the World Series has bumped Doc and Murder in a Small Town from its schedule, the shows will return after the World Series concludes. With the final game in the series set to air by or before November 1, Fox will be able to bring its two hit dramas back into the mix after a one-week break!
Both Doc and Murder in a Small Town will resume their second seasons on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, with the sixth episode of the shows airing in the evening.
The night will begin with the sixth episode of Murder in a Small Town as Karl and the team look into a bear attack which they suspect was foul play. Directly after, Doc fans are in store for an equally eventful episode, which will see Amy treating a chaplain, who ends up helping her just as much as she helps him. The episode will also see TJ finally returning to work following his injury in the season premiere, while Michael comes under fire for his actions during the hostage crisis that resulted in TJ’s injury.
It’s going to be a night fans won’t want to miss, and thankfully there are other great shows to keep fans busy on October 28 if you’re not interested in the World Series. This includes new episodes of Dancing with the Stars and High Potential on ABC, fresh episodes of the NCIS franchise on CBS, and NBA coverage on NBC!
